Not all pot smokers are idiots
I smoke it every day. I have a car, a full-time job, and a lovely rented house, I do not steal to support my smoking habit.I'm honest and responsible. Yet, I'm a criminal simply because I choose to relax with some bud rather than Budweiser.
Smoking marijuana has given me many benefits. Since I began smoking regularly, my chronic insomnia has disappeared. The severe depression I felt is gone. I no longer cry irrationally, nor entertain thoughts of suicide. I've had no more panic attacks. After years of insanity, I finally feel stable.
Many people are under the illusion that it can induce a schizophrenic reaction in an otherwise mentally fit person. I have news for you: Nobody bceomes mentally ill from smoking pot. Marijuana can exacerbate pre-existing mental conditions in some people, but it does not cause the condition. Still, marijuana is not for everyone - rather like how alcohol is not for everyone.
Not all of us stoners are idiots like Mr. "I smoke weed every day. I don't give a fuck". Unfortunately, the stupid people seem to shout the loudest, giving the rest of us a bad name.
I'm not the only one who leads a functional life while stoned. There are many of us out there, afraid to give voice to our lifstyle for fear of legal repercussions. We are the people you meet in your everyday life. Many of us are not criminals in any other way.
Please, don't judge us all based on the words and actions of the truly dopey stoners.

4the valedictorian of my school, smoked on a daily bases and he still made grades better than everyone else's. This goes to prove that pot doesn't make people stupid loaners. And besides, whats the big deal about it. Its not like a gateway drug that can kill you or anything.

5Agreed. I know many intelligent, productive people who enjoy a doobie.
In principal, I see no difference in the person who comes home from work, and enjoys a beer, to the one who enjoys a smoke.
Sometimes I wish there would be prohibition again, just to see what some self righteous drinkers would say and do then.
I bet their attitude on the "black market" would change pretty quick.

11I go to a rather fine college and met the greatest group of people. We get into some stimulating conversation, have study groups, we all get great grades... And they all love to smoke marijuana. If anything, the drugs have only made them more relaxed than the typical college student (in other words... me. Ball of nerves). Their easygoing, coolheaded mindset actually helps them in getting through the work at a pretty steady pace. I have trouble keeping up at times. Of course, I'm not going to start smoking now... After all, I went without it for this long; why start now?

13Some people can function being pot heads and not reinforce the stereotypes, others can not. I don't smoke weed because i feel less productive and all around less sharp. i also don't want to spend the money

14People that make negative comments about pot have never tried it or they'd actually have a fucking clue what they were talking about. I've never understood why someone would condemn something they have no first hand knowledge of. That's how misinformation works. Someone that has no idea what they're talking about says something, a few other people that also have no idea what they're talking about repeat it and the next thing you know the people that do know what they're talking about are fighting an uphill battle to get to the truth.
