Historically, because of white flight, many inner cities are primarily black. Even very diverse cities are unfortunately segregated because of the social divisions of white and black.
For example, Detroit, one of the lowest income cities in America, with one of the highest crime rates, is 81% black. Not so long ago Detroit was a good mix of white, black, and other types of people. Once white people realized that their city was becoming "too black" they took their businesses and families elsewhere.
This is very typical for urban communities.
Blacks also historically have lower income than whites. When white people fled to the suburbs, it was impossible for many blacks to follow because of lower pay, discrimination, etc.
Also, it is much easier for a white person who makes a better income to move into an all white neighborhood because when blacks move in, many times there is panic that the property value will drop, as if the people will taint their neighborhood, along with countless cases of vandalism and threats to blacks across america who have moved into nicer areas.
Also, the unemployment rates for blacks are DOUBLE that of whites...
Don't forget that blacks have an extremely large numbers of young males in prison, which leads to families without fathers.
Sure, exceptions can be made, but do yourself a favor and look up statistics. So, sorry to the few whites we have left in the ghetto.

White people typically don't move into black neighborhoods.
In all the places I have seen, poor white people move into trailer parks with other poor white trash. They woudn't move to the hood, because they hate blacks.

Detroit is 80% black and has huge unemployment, extreme crime, poverty, etc and that is white peoples fault? Or just not black peoples fault. Seems to me if the city is crap and it's 80% black, 80% of the problems are due to black people.
Blacks have lower incomes, higher unemployment and high numbers of young males in prison. Sounds like a BLACK problem to me, not a white one.
Instead of crying and whining about reperations and slavery which ended 150 years ago, why not work on your own culture and people? Aren't 1/3 of black males in some phase of the legal system? Unemployemnt is sky high. Girls are having babies out of wedlock at an astounding rate. So why not work on black PEOPLE and how they destroy themselves and their society and stop blaming white people.

It is often said the US is a meritocracy. We assume that all positions, privileges and titles are awarded based on merit. This assumption does not allow us to see that inequality is a result of a STRUCTURAL DESIGN, rather than personal incompetence. Many of us fail to recognize, or don't want to recognize, how much our ascribed status can influence what we have the ability to achieve.
Socially, where we begin a race is more important than how we train for it. Based on status conferred at birth, some people are able to start a ten mile race at the nine mile marker, while others start at the actual starting line and are still forced to face detours, potholes, and other social obstacles. What this means is that those who work the hardest and are the best socially equipped, are often losers who never make it to the finish line.
One group's success is contingent on the failure of the masses.
We have been trained to believe that inequality is a result of individual agency. This is false.
It is difficult to recognize social inequalities unless we are the direct victims.
you people are ridiculous. You have privilege because others do not. you spend so much time enjoying these privileges that you do not have time to recognize social inequality.
