Although I have to say it was sort of amusing that the president of the NRA had alzheimers when he was still the fucking president. Those assholes think EVERYONE should be allowed to own a gun. You went from a pseudoreligious icon to a lowlife. Thanks to you there is wonderful news to report. The same online gun dealer sold to the school shooter in both the Virginia tech shooting, and the NIU shooting. When asked if he felt guilty that he sold to school shooters, the man actually encouraged other college students to buy from him. Thats right, if everyone bought guns from this fuckhead, we could have shootouts in the classroom instead of massacres. great logic. Maybe you could just not be a douchebag. that would work to. We have the second highest number of guns per capita in the world, and by far the highest gun murder rates. Every year, almost 20, 000 people are killed with guns in this country. Compare that with the 3, 000 people that were killed in 9/11, which was supposedly a big deal. Every year we have 7 9/11's due to guns. Fuck you Heston. Enjoy your eternity in hell

2I don't know enough about the guy to judge him on the NRA thing, but I do know he supported equal rights in the early 70's and was a good actor. Hell, Reagan was an OK actor, so-so governor, got Alzheimer's (while he was Prez) and didn't do the U. S. any favors in the long run. Maybe there's a pattern here somewhere...

8Swiss gun laws are not nuts, they are responsible. The problem here in America is that too many people are incapable of such responsibility. Taking away gun ownership is detrimental to a free society, but with so much irresponsibility here in America, there needs to be a means to determine who is cabable of the responsibility. Felons are already not allowed to own or possess firearms. Not sure what else can be done unless there is a psychology test, but I don't see how a test wouldn't preclude some that may actually be responsible enough. Actually though, we are just wasting our time discussing this with someone as senseless as the person who posted this.

12Sure, I can deduce lots of things but people need to say what they mean, otherwise we're all left deducing, and sometimes deducing incorrectly, and that's how problems start. Perhaps you and I will deduce that he meant weapons (they wouldn't be called "arms" either) and we'd both could be wrong because maybe he really does think the Romans had guns.

13I wrote #9 dumbfucks. The point is that there is no country on earth that has lost their freedom due to gun bans. To claim so, you would really have to stretch. Of course the Romans did not have guns. That is the point. They lost freedom for obviously different reasons, but you could claim that IF THEY HAD GUNS, they could have defended their empire. Stupid argument, but the best there is. There is no country that has lost their freedoms because of gun control. In fact, the US is losing its freedoms due to the fact that we are becomming a facist police state in order to deal with the proliferation of firearms in our society.

14so #13 why do you think it was Hitler's and Stalin's top priorities to disarm the people and take their books? That is the exact reason why our 1st amendment is free speech and the 2nd is the right to bear arms. It's a very dangerous thing for the people within a society to forget. That's why the Swiss teach that importance to their children and require that all citizens become proficient with their firearms as a highest duty to their community. Unfortunately our misguided hell-bent attitude of political correctness is starting to cloud the judgement of so many here.

15its obvious that perhaps you are mistaking guns with, i dunno... over population? Crime doesn't come from having the means to use it, but population density. They have shown it in research with even lab mice. When you put a lot of people in a tight area, fighting will break out. Now if one uses a guy, vs a knife, that really isn't the question.
Look at like hic towns, where everyone owns a guy, but yet there aren't any shootings. The shoots also only happen at larger schools, not in schools of only 100 ppl. Guns might enable someone to kill someone else, but the problem isn't guns, its the people.
Makes me sad that people like you blame the tool rather than the person. Thats like saying that the reason songs are pirated is due to computers, so lets ban computers so people can't pirate software. Or hell, due to drunk driving, we should remove all cars so no one can get hit by a car. Thats what we should do. Remove all cars so no one is hit by a drunk driver anymore.
Learn to figure out the cause of attacks, not the tools.
