2Um, no, sorry, I wouldn't condone that. No one wants a visit from the Secret Service. Besides, nothing's going to change after November, because they've got us by the short hairs no matter who resides on Pennsylvania Ave.

8it's pretty astounding how people here aren't aware of all of the efforts the president and congress go through to find ways to reduce oils costs for us. Probably none of you watch CNN debates and congressional inquiries about this. Well I have every day for years, and their only options are to either reduce demand or increase output. They can't really reduce demand because that would driectly affect our ability to commute, so they've been focusing their attention on increasing output. This has been their primary initiative in order to do all that is possible for oil prices. Remember, it is the Arab countries of OPEC that are the ones that limit supply to unnaturally inflate prices. They do it directly according to their ability. When our economy is week, they perceive us as in a more dire situation and they are more apt to further reduce supply and increase prices. The only thing we are able to do to offset this is to do what we can to increase domestic production, which only accounts for a small percentage of our total demand, so this too is only helpful to a limited degree. Make no mistake, our government and the oil companies here in the US are doing everything possible to increase production. One of biggest hurdles is the very rapid increase in demand over the past decade in the midst of aging refineries. Oil companies are not only trying to create new refineries, but they are also trying to sustain the aging ones. With all of the congressional hearings over this, if there were any single force within our own country working against us, it would immediately be a very public issue and you would know about it. Concressional hearings are also being held to address the fact that increasing output is only a temporary solution as oil will eventually become unavailable, necessitating alternative fuels. The problem is that the mainstream media never covers the boring things like what the government does in our interest because there's no controversy to the story, so people are left having to watch hours upon hours of live undecorated and uninteresting daytime footage of congressional meetings and debates. It's also amazing how well the government handled the loan market crisis which could have completely obliterated our economy overnight and we could have awakened to a horrible new world here on a recent Monday morning. It's also amazing how thorough and methodical congressional hearings have assessed their corrective actions to the quickly impending crisis, and it's amazing how well they have made conclusions, adaptations, and very insightful future considerations. As much as the mainstream media profits from controversy, our government is doing a very incredible job and it makes me very appreciative because in all of history there had never been a better time and place in which a government had strived so much for it's people. It's unfortunate that in so many regards, the efforts of our government go unnoticed with only the pitfalls making the news.

10well "Probably none of you watch CNN debates and congressional inquiries about this. Well I have every day for years" is a major concern considering you feel like you are an authority on this subject, yet you're only getting info from CNN for years on end? expand your mind. CNN just like FOX and MSNBC all propagate the same bullshit in different ways depending on which political party they feel like supporting.
and oh yea... Jerk...

11#10 thanks for the suggestion to expand my mind and I would if you could offer a method. I may have forgotten to mention the CSPAN channels I watch as well. Even so, I don't believe that complete live footage of congressional hearings on any channel could be remotely considered propaganda. It's boring as hell unless you can manage to get into following the dialog, and most people can't stand it for more than a few minutes let alone hours because they want a faster pace of content delivery. So it may be, but it's definitely the furthest thing from bullsh-t that is publicly available to us. It is the most direct and unconvoluted source of information available which makes it as trustworthy as your own ability to interpret English.
and thanks for the compliment :)

15#7: It's not a crime to talk about committing crimes. If it were, Ann Coulter would be in prison. In her book she asked whether it would have been better for President Bill Clinton to be impeached or assassinated and she's not anonymous.
She also said this about John Edwards. "I've learned my lesson. If I'm gonna say anything about John Edwards in the future, I'll just wish he had been killed in a terrorist assassination plot."
