Cashiers and waitstaff are people too

I'm a teenager. I know, this means I'm automatically lazy, dishonest and irresponsible. I work a minimum wage job as a cashier and people treat me as though I'm the lukiest person in the world to be able to ring up their condoms and National Enquirers. Let me give you a hint, this is not a privelidge and I get tired of being treated like your little cashier slave.

I am a person. As such, I tend to get annoyed when people get angrey with me for things beyond my control. I know, the Crush soda never rings up. I've already spoken to my manager about it and I can't change it so stop whining.

Also, as a member of the human race, I deserve not to be harrassed in the workplace. Sir, I know what condoms are for and if you show me your penis one more time I will cut it off. No jury will convict me.

Managers, cut me some slack. I'm new. I don't know everything. Don't grab me, fisting my shirt is now classified as assault. I don't want you so close to me while your yelling that your spit strikes me.

Fellow co-workers. I know Mr. Greeter, I'm young I'm blond. I'm a girl. It's easy to make me blush. I don't mind it when you playfully flirt with me. You're old enough to be my grandfather and no one takes it seriously. That said don't touch me. I don't want you to hug me, I really don't want you to kiss/lick me and I really really don't want you grabbing my breasts or my ass. Old or not it's inappropriate and I don't like it.

Treat me like a real live human being and see how nice I'll treat you!

Why aren't you a pleasant and cheerful person. I can't wait to visit your store.

No, I just get upset when a guest pulls out his penis in front of me. I work in a grocery store, not a strip club! I should have called security, but I didn't and he did it to two other girls. I was the oldest at 18, they were both minors.

You can do better than that job, I am sure. Start discreetly networking with your best (i. E. polite) customers, mention that you're responsible and reliable and mature. You'd be surprised what might come along.

*rolls eyes* and my parents wonder why I don't get a another job. It's because there are no good jobs out there that don't give people cancer/brain damage.

like working at a gas station. I would do that, but I've already lost enough brain cells because of my brother's axe.

I totally agree. Why do customers and co workers and managers think they are better than us? We're all the same, we all know the same things. In fact, theyre all probably complete dumb fucks. I get treated like shit by my boss just because I'm the youngest one there and it's a complete piss take

HAHAHA. thank you, that just made my night.

ps - to whoever wrote this topic, I SALUTE YOU. i work in a restaurant and its my worst nightmare. and i'm actually being serious about that - i really do have nightmares about my job. i'm a little shameful to admit that it wasn't until i began working at a restaurant that i started putting extra effort into being pleasant towards those who do similar jobs, but i do! :)
