Racist Media
I hate the big deal the media makes every time some white girl gets murdered. Sure its sad for there families, but the same shit happens every day in our inner cities. The only real difference is that the people getting shot are black. It takes something super special for one of these stories to make the news, like a stray bullet killing a child on the playground or something. Other than that, nothing. Fuck this shit, the world is too fucked up.Rating:5.00

I understand where your coming from. However, things like that happen too often in the ghettos of America to report on them all the time. The frequency makes these events no longer new worthy. As sad as it is it has sort of become a given.

I don't mean for this to sound one bit racist. But if black people are being shot ALL the time and it is the same story every time, they aren't going to show it on the news. I agree with you, though. I think the media finds stories that they can glorify and lie about them to make them better.
People die every day, but not all of the stories end up in the media. It's almost like, if this one isn't shown, why should that one be?
Personally, I don't want to hear it anymore. I am sick of the bad news all together.

i can't tell you how many times i have said the same thing myself. im a white woman from the inner city and i have always wondered why it was no big deal if a black person was killed but then a white person is killed it's like the world has ended. everyone remembers laci peterson and natalee holloway, but who remembers megan williams (even though she is still alive, what happened to her was about the worst thing i could imagine)? i don't mean to diminish the tragedy of anyone's death, but seriously, people who say that everyone is equal should TREAT everyone equally. enough of this preferential treatment bs. people have to deal with racism in everyday life, why make them also deal with racism in death?
i guess i could've had my own rant about this...

It's the pretty white girl thing. If a pretty white girl gets kidnapped, the media is all over it. A black or hispanic girl - or boy - goes missing, it's business as usual.
I think the Onion or something did a "story" on it once, in which parents of an ugly missing child were discovered to have photoshopped her picture to make her more attractive. It was satire, of course, but with things the way they are, it's not that far fetched.

yes, to get adequate coverage on tv, you have to be either white and good looking, or just extremely good looking. Or dumb. Or gay.
