Best Friends for Never
Dear BFF;We've known each other for just under 7 years. We've been best friends for 5 of those years.
This year you go away to school, and we managed to stay close. Closer than ever before some might say. Talking pretty much everyday, we never managed that before.
Yet, every-time I see you online. I want to block you. Every single thing that you type is so friggen passive aggressive. And hypocritical and competitive. And I feel like you judge me
A) I say that I'm really tired from studying all day. You say, I've been up since 4am. WTF? That doesn't mean that I'm not tired still! I was ACTIVELY studying while you sat on your lazy ass in a freaken plane all day <-- not exactly the most exhausting thing you could be doing. I am mentally drained that is still a form of tiredness!
B)Prior to school you had your heart set on journalism and being a writer thats all you could ever imagine yourself doing. I casually suggest doing polisci because you loved social class. Or I suggest going into television//news journalism. You shoot me down. Half way into the semester you start thinking about going into tv/news journalism. Now at the end of school you want to switch into polisci. Of course these are all your original ideas.
C) You always discount anything I say. Its always "oh yea thats nice. I did this" Me me me. I I I. I don't care anymore.
D) I say I want to do Europe nicely. You say you want to backpack around it. Last year, you told me you would never backpack around europe because you would miss showering.
E) I actually think you are a little bit slutty. ever wonder why I never tell you about boys? They do exist in my life - I just don't want you to taint them and tell me to finally have sex with them
F)Smoking weed? Seriously? You said you would NEVER do that.
I'm giving you one week to shape up and apologize to me. After then, I'm not going to try anymore.
Fuck you
Love,
Your Ex-BFF
ps. i'm getting ******* my own present. Getting one between the two of us looks cheap.

4I had a bff like that. But now, in my fifties, i realize that people like that are'nt really YOUR friend... They are just ALLOWING you to be THEIRS. They use you to make themselves feel better about themselves.

5Does your "BFF" KNOW how you feel? Or are you just going to cut them off and have them wonder what they did wrong? A person can't apologize if they don't see the err of their ways...
Just a thought.

6People change as they age - don't be so pissed she's moving forward and you're stagnating. People need to develop their own ideas of right and wrong and sometimes when people leave the little safe nest of surburbia they change their views. There's a lot of debate about the safety of weed and sex. As for Europe and the present - maybe she's a little broke. Who knows, her parents might not be feeding her money hand and foot. She may actually need to save money.

7She may be trying to relate to you by commenting on how tired she is... Maybe you are the competitive one. Look up "projection" and see if it sounds like you!

8EXACTLY... they either copy or try to one-up you. Annoying as hell.
