'Curvy'
why has the word 'curvy' come to mean 'fat'? on tv, in magazines, or just in conversation, people are always using the word 'curvy as a euphamism for FAT. i am TRULY curvy (hourglass frame but lean and sort of toned), and any time i pick up a magazine or style guide, and flip through, there are sections for pettite women, for athletic women, pear shape, ect... And then i come to 'curvy' and its always some 250lbs cow showing off her 'shape.' what the fuck is left for me? am i suposed to be lumped in with these porkers who actually are shaped nothing like me? do i not deserve a category, style advice, or even my own fucking adjective????? a 'curve' is where you waist goes in and back out at the hip or where your bum starts at the bottom of your back... Its NOT a fat roll....Rating:4.20

1I am totally with you!
I am a 34 - 26 - 38, curvy, hourglass shaped!
Those "love your body" women are 40-40-40.
NOT curvy, Roundy more like!
Fat People should do something other than protest and campaign to be accepted.
You dont see diabetic people doing that.
They go and take care of their health.
Fat people should shut up an run.

2I hella agree. I'm 37-28-37. I don't have a problem with fat people. I don't even think fat people call themselves "curvy" . I hear voluptuous a lot more when descirbing attractive fat people.

7yeah, whether the word in question is curvy or voluptuous.... There is not word left for hourglass (except for maybe that one in particular) women that doesn't have to be shared with the plus size community. and its true that women of this shape are never in a seperate category in like style sections... Its not that there is anything wrong with the plus size girls, but they really look different. we can take comfort in the fact that hourglass shapes are the most classicly sexually attractive shape (hello marilyn monroe), we statisticly live longer, a . 7 waist-to-hip ratio is consistently considered the most attractive, and studies have shown we give birth to smarter children... A seperate column in some style magazines might be nice though...
