Customers
I have been working in retail for a while now and come across many customers who don't like my blase attitude. What they don't realize is that it stems from years of being polite to customers who never reciprocated!They say to themselves, "What do they expect? If they are rude to me I'll be rude to them." But it is a two way street - how long can one person go on being polite to people who don't give a shit?

Only difference between you and the customer is that you get paid to deal with them, they have to pay to deal with you. You job is to be polite and helpful to every one of your customers and if you can't manage to do that, find another job where you don't have to deal with people.

I can put up with blase, but the ones that are downright rude or can't be bothered to make an attempt to be pleasant when I'm friendly to them really piss me off.

TELL ME ABOUT IT! its not so much the rude ones its the ones that GO OUT OF THEIR WAY to be rude that piss me off! they find it funny to wind you up. next to do it winds up on my fist

I don't get paid enough to DEAL with anyone who is rude and disrespectful! And it pays the rent - first person who commented embodies the attitude that we in customer service abhore. I hop your food gets spat in. hehe!

I am outraged! I work in customer service and noone has to "deal" with me. I am so polite to EVERY one of my customers, and it can be draining when noone is nice to you!

Who does that first person think they are? honestly, you mustn't have the first clue about what's it like to DEAL with customers. THe nice ones who reciprocate make our day. We work to deadlines, that's not ALL we have to do, ignoramus!

Tell me about it, I am a mother and carry myself with poise and a smile on my face - and people still treat me like I'm not worth a cent. My pleasant nature SHOULD make a difference, but sadly it doesn't. FOR SHAME all you rude people!

They do so go out way, dont they? Far out, I know how you feel. WE don't GET PAID enough to put up with some people. Yeah, I have worked in service for ten years, it pays the mortgage, it is stable. But to look for something else now would be financial suicide considering my current situation. Very unfortunately i am stuck there to face it all
