Oh, adults
I am a seventeen-year-old female. That doesn't mean that I obsess over The Hills, or that I actually use phrases such as "OMG" or "talk shit" in everyday conversation. It also doesn't mean that I deserve the over-developed unrequited judgment of adults who think that they've really got me pinned.I understand that my generation is a waste of money, waste of life, and waste of oxygen. Believe me, I am as scared of them as you are. Regardless, simply because the majority of my generation is incompetent and borderline retarded, doesn't mean that everyone is. There are a few people who understand, who "get it", that give me a bit of hope.
Most adults are always complaining about teenagers, and understandably so. Yet, don't they remember what it was like to be a teenager? They might not have noticed it then, but teenagers have always been annoying, and will continue to be annoying and whiny for the rest of eternity. Complaining won't do anything, and nothing can be done to help them. It's just something that needs to be accepted.
Adults, please do me a favor. When we meet, do not immediately assume that because I have blond hair that I am dumb. Please do not assume that I am as dumb as everyone else my age, because you just look like an ass when you talk down to me.
I'm innocent until proven guilty; at least respect that fact.

2I know what you mean, and I sympathize for when others prejudge you. It happens between all age groups, too.
You're right that teenagers have always had issues. Still, when I was in school I don't seem to remember any school shootings, crack & meth problems, teachers being beaten up or having sex with the kids. Maybe it's because pot was more prevalent and we were just pretty mellow!!!
