I Hate Retail
I work part time at a store in a mall, and I work for minimum wage. I also just got a job delivering car parts (not many chicks do that) but they pay me more. So at the job in the mall, one of my bosses can be a real bitch. I also have to care so much about the job, knowing all about the products, being nice to customers, cleaning a shit load, and so on. but at my new job I get paid to drive around all day, joke around with the guys at the shop, and carry pretty light parts into a fucking garage. so why do I have to be treated like shit for minimum wage and deal with assholes? its not fair. I don't care what products sell the best, and I also have to carry a see-through purse so they know I'm not stealing, and whenever I leave they have to check my pockets, I have to lift up my pant leg, and God damit I hate it!

3Stick with the car parts job, you'll be happier. You may even get to work the counter eventually and make commission. Plus the people in the auto parts biz are a little more intelligent and have more connections than some retail crap place at the mall.

5Car parts job for the win. Are you able to pick up more hours with that job to cover for dropping the crap retail job?
I'm a chick in the car industry too and it's way better than the hellions in retail :)

6I've never worked in retail but I've been buying auto parts for many years and I sure wouldn't categorize any of the auto parts counter people I've dealt with as "intelligent".

7If you like the other job better, go with it. And becauce you have a better job you now have the wonderous freedom to not give a shit at your retail job. So have fun and enjoy your last couple of days. The things I did were to give people free items, discounts, too much money back, or just walk away for about 20 min in the middle of your shift to get a smoothy. It caost them money and you get to piss them off all at the same time. Great Fun

9^ Yeah, I agree, and you've got to be careful because you could be rightly accused of stealing from the company if they could show you did it on purpose. So not only do you lose a reference but you get a black mark on your file forever.

10No real job is going to check references from a mall store. Unless you worked there for years. So if she uses it as a reference it's probably going to be for something similar and she doesn't want that.
So I agree with #7, quit and have fun doing it. Just don't do anything potentially illegal.
