Mother's Day? Whatever
My mother and I have not talked in over 2 years. And I'm fine with it. You see, she is on her 3rd marriage; gave up an abusive alcoholic for an abusive criminal. The guy makes his living by identity theft.He's made several attempts to buy things or get money using my (and my brother's) identities. I tell her this but in her mind he can do no wrong. So this is the way it must be: a safe distance between, I have a new SSN and keep an eye on my credit files.
He has taken everything she had, for himself, so of course she's completely dependent on him. And maybe that's the way she prefers it.
So, when Mother's Day comes around, about all I can do is hope that she will come to her senses someday, maybe the next time he goes to jail.
