Religious a-holes
I'm tired of people trying to convert me to their religions! Personally, I don't really have religious beliefs. That isn't to say that I don't believe in god or anything, I just don't follow any religion. Because of this, I am constantly targeted by amateur preachers trying to "save my soul from eternal damnation".Look, I respect their beliefs. Why can't they just respect my lack of beliefs? Besides, it's not like a bit of pestering is going to convert me. They wouldn't abandon their beliefs if I told them to, so why should I do the same for them?

1is it that they are proud of their faith or are they really trying to change you?

2They really want to change me. I enjoy hearing about different people's beliefs, but these people have actually told me that I will burn in hell if I don't join them. One person even told me that "if I am not with god, then god is not with me".

3The most intelligent people are quite comfortable accepting that humanity shares an ancestor with the great apes, whilst the least intelligent among us need to believe they are the spawn of a superbeing in whose image we are made. One would think the intelligent would have the greater arrogance and inflated sense of self, not vice versa.

4I'm just sick of the whole debate between believers of this and believers of that. Does it really even matter where we came from? People just need to accept the fact that they are here for some reason or other and NO ONE knows for sure. Let people believe what they want to believe. People don't need to stop talking about their beliefs completely, just to be less aggressive toward "nonbelievers".

5"Let people believe what they want to believe."
Fine. But the moment they start having laws made based on their beliefs is when they cross the line.

6That is true. Lawmakers that pass laws based on religious beliefs are wrong, but all of the same morals that laws are based on, such as don't kill, steal, etc. are all from religious time periods. So all of our laws in some way have crossed the line, because we all do what the lawmakers say is ok, or "right". As far as people pushing their beliefs on you, tell them to get away from you with that. Tell them you have your own religion and that it is against your religion to hear an opinion on any other kind of religion, and your people will kill you. Anyone who tries to change anyone elses' religion, or belief system, is a fanatic, and a fool! Keep all of it to yourself. As for the person that tells you God is not with you, tell them that your God is not with them. Tell them that people get killed over that kind of shit. Tell them that it is fine to tell someone about your beliefs if you ask them about it, but they have no place to tell you whether you are wrong or right, because their belief is based on what they have learned, and yours is based on what you have learned. Tell them they are no more divine than you, because they are human, and that they don't have anything in their heads that can change that. Tell them to spend their time helping and giving to others, and stop worrying about what someone else personally believes.

7Which would you have more regard for, a person who tries to do right because they think someone is always "watching" them, or a person who does good and right by their fellow man simply because they love and respect other humans?
