America's Finest
What I'm trying to stress here is that I have seen some of the worst mistreatment of human beings by police officers. I have seen racially charged assaults, thievery, lies, verbal abuse, unnecessary gun and pepper spray use, animal cruelty and just about every other behavior that logical people would consider atrocious.
Here's the worst part: Who polices the police? I would like to say the people, but obviously, that is not true. In most cases, the Police decide the fate of their fellow officers, or in more serious cases, the judicial system which works with the police and has a naturally created bias.
I hate police, and the majority of the ones that I have come across were unnecessarily aggressive, violent, and vulgar. If anyone disagrees, please post below, because I would like to hear a few relevant reasons to support them and all of the power they inherit.

Lots of crooked cops out there and the ones who harass motorists to extort money from citizens for the city revenues (retarded traffic laws). Those kind of cops give the rest a bad name.

Yeah, the thing is, however, is that there are far more 'good cops' than there are 'bad cops'. I know many, many police officers, all of whom put their lives on the line every damn day for a bunch of ungrateful asses. Keep knocking them-the day they save your life somehow you'll change your mind.

This isn't the movies. It's not crash. No cop is going to save my life, just like they never saved the lives of my friends. The only people that might save my life are paramedics or doctors, or strangers, but I would rather die than have a cop save me.

While a lot of cops are just dick-heads, creating an enviroment of hate makes it all worse. If you go into a situation where you know the other person hates you I'd bet you're not going to treat them with patience and understanding.

Yes, it seems like the more and more the police who are supposed to be sworn to uphold laws, protect the public and provide fair, unbiased service, while respecting the constitutional rights of the citizens, are becoming a dangerous gang of thugs themselves.
Many conduct themselves as if they're above the laws they should be enforcing. Should this trend continue, it won't be long before they will be more of a threat to our safety and well being than the people who they are supposed to be protecting us from.
Due to the fact that they don't have to answer to anyone but themselves, there is a potential for them to become the most dangerous gang in the country and in some areas, it’s already happening.
There are many reasons why this unfortunate transformation from guardians to offenders
is taking place. Far too many to post here. But what I see as one of the biggest contributions to officer misconduct, is that we lack any substantial means where by citizens can force our government to hold these bad apples accountable for their unscrupulous actions. The blue wall of silence rarely leaks or turns against it’s own, even when it is aware of the corruption and illegal activities taking place within itself.
This has resulted in more officers being persuaded to act with total disregard for our laws, rather than persuading those who were breaking the law, to conduct themselves within proper legal boundaries.
Another cause for concern is the practice of hiring new officers who are just recently discharged from the military. They were brainwashed by the military fresh out of high school. They look at their enemy as something that has to be destroyed in order to succeed in their goal. There is just themselves and the enemy. This is not the best mindset for these young recruits to have, upon joining a police department, citizens are not the enemy, we are the taxpayer. We pay their wages and are supposed to be receiving protection for that tax money.
Somewhere along the way, we stopped receiving protection and began to receive punishment.

It's unfortunate that so many view the Police as the enemy, when it's so obvious that they're not. The men and women of law enforcement go to work each day knowing that they very well could get killed, or seriously injured, while on the job. The most "minor" situations when viewed by a non-involved party may very well be one of, if not the most, dangerous situation an officer can be put it. An example being a traffic stop; this is hands down the most dangerous situation an officer will enter into on a day-to-day basis. They approach a stopped vehicle, unable to see the occupant(s) and what they're doing and/or hiding. They don't know who they are walking up to, if they're going to discharge a weapon, etc. A traffic stop is an annoyance to the majority of us, well put yourself in the officer's shoes - it's also an annoyance, and possibly, a life threatening situation. This may explain why an Officer is somewhat uncooperative with you. You don't know what that officer has seen already in their day at "work". They may have just finished up with a pursuit, possibly working on a child sex abuse case, maybe just left the scene of a suicide via gun shot. Your worst day can't compare to what these officers see, so lay off and have some respect. God forbid if the day ever comes where any of you "haters" need Police assistance you better hope they're willing to place themselves in danger to get your tail out of it.

The bad cops (like bad teachers, bad coaches, bad athletes) make the headlines. Most people are all right. There are always bad apples, just try your best not to be one and that's all anyone can ask of you.

Listen up everyone. Buy a gun and learn how to use it safely and legally. Do not rely on the cops to come and save you after an intruder has breached your front door. Blow that bastard away and hope the cops get there before the perps body starts stinking. Which would be a fat chance because they are slower than molasses in January.
