There's so much culture and intelligence that served the world way back when... The British were using leeches and the plague was taking Europe over and Arab scholars were pioneering in medicine, mathematics, and translations. However, now ... some've regressed... truely. it baffles me that this minority of extremist-self-mutilating-other-religion-hating of arabs are what's feeding the media. why aren't the normal people who lead normal lives stepping up? those of us who are professors, loving mothers, role model fathers, scholarship-receiving students, progressive thinkers... why are we not breaking the nasty-terrorist-brown-arab stereotype? we come in all colours, religions, mindsets, traditions, and experiences... why not share those instead of letting that idiotic, savage, and disgusting minority feed the media an image that's not truely ours?Rating:5.00

6Islam actually translates into peace and the Islamic faith is the faith that is closest to Christianity as far as beliefs. I've read the Koran and the Bible, but haven't really studied either heavily and I don't see any major differences in values expressed in the two texts.

7I go to college in Michigan and have met and become friends with about 50 people from Saudi Arabia. None of my American friends have ever matched how nice and friendly they are. They invite anyone over and cook for others, introduce all of their friends.... That never happens with anyone else.

11my girlfriend is of arab origin -- her parents are syrian. she's everything i've ever wanted - beautiful, classy, and smart. not to mention great in bed :P but seriously, what the other person said about their hospitality is very true... when i go to her parents' home, they treat me so well and her mother is absolutely breathtaking because she can actually hold a conversation and her dad is really kind and quite alright with the fact that she's dating me (an american). when i compare my experience with dating arab women (2 including the one i'm seeing now) with other euro-american ladies... i find that arab ladies have a healthier outlook on life and they are quite sophisticated compared to their counterparts. that's just my two cents... so yes, i agree with you.. the hairy smelly brown arab is a stereotype and it'd be nice to see more people like you voice their opinions and break those silly notions.
