Interracial dating
I was wondering why is so taboo in the south for Black man to date a white girl? It would seem that parents socialize still socialize there kids to have negative stigma about black males. As a resident of Atlanta, GA I pull my fair share of girls but many do admit I am there first appearance with the darkside and are a little hesistant for whatever reason they may have. 1The problem is that the south is still very prejudiced. Up north it is very common to see interracial couples. Unfortunately just because integration was legalized doesn't mean that people still don't segregate themselves. My friend is from Mississippi and we went down for a trip. You see whites and blacks segregate themselves. It's sad, but the south hasn't come as far as people think it has.

2Being from California (seriously, don't call it Cali), I always kind of feel like racism and segregation are a thing of the past. Interracial couples cause no one to bat an eye, simply because we've already moved past it.
Its all about location and history. Atlanta has a lot of history. The further west you go, the less history there is, and the more open things are.

3#1 is an idiot. I am from the south and living now in the north. If you think the north is any less racist than the south, you delude yourself. But I guess talking logic to someone who was told one thing all their life and decides to convince themselves that it is true after a few days of being a tourist is probably not possible.

4#2 its not about how far WEST you go.... The northeast is just as "enlightened" as california and it is one of the regions with the MOST history. i would actually say it has to do with the education and broad experience of the majority of the population.

5I think we'll realize in November just how widespread racism still is in this country. Remember how easy Hillary took PA and KY? The media hinted at it but couldn't really come out and say it, everyone expected Obama to lose because racism still pervades in the blue-collar cities, north AND south.

8Okay I would agree and say the south is way more racist than the north but the north isn't any better. I live in the heart of Chicago and I still have people look at me when I hang out with my friends from different races. There really no where you can run from this. It's everywhere. But don't let that hold you back. Do what you want! I know by the end of this year I'll be dating someone that isn't black but I really don't give a damn what anyone thinks.

I agree with you about experience and education. One of the main components of the education that people receive in the northwest (well, at least they should) is that of slavery. Many nothern states opposed it, and emancipated their slaves years before the civil war, which although not centered on the subject of slavery, was a major issue of the time.
Please, don't be so quick to disregard in the future. Especially with points that can be argued so easily.

12It depends on where you live in the South. Large cities in Florida like Orlando, Miami and Tampa are no more prejudice than any city in the North. That being said, I personally think interracial relationships suck. I hate seeing a white girl with a black guy or a couple with a grey kid that looks kind of white and kind of black but isn't either.
