Old women going back to school
So, I was in class today, and the discussion was shopping culture. The teacher was talking about handbags and expensive clothes, equating them to other luxury goods like cars.Fair enough, but I made a joke about cars being more useful than purses to the lady in front of me.
That was a big mistake, I should've known better than to talk to her, thinking she'd get a joke.
"Cars are just an extension of a man's penis", she said, spitefully.
I tried to argue the point that cars can serve the same purpose to women as they do to men (status symbol, personal value, so on) and she replied...
"I drove a Porsche to school today, does that make my penis longer?"
Lady, what the fuck? I've never looked at my car and flaunted it for people like it makes me so great. I appreciate it, especially since I finished making payments on it, its mine.
Sure, you own two BMWs and its so fucking great to not have to drive around a Honda anymore, because they're such "cheap cars". My Honda has already put down more miles than your BMW ever will. (Nothing against BMWs; she just babies her cars instead of DRIVING them) And yeah, its great that your husband owns a Porsche too.
... Oh wait, I get it now, your husband has a small dick. Guess that kind of makes me a jerk for ranting so much...
Well, all I'm mad about is the fact that this woman was so closed-minded.
A few things she really needs to figure out (I'd try to tell her, but it'd be easier to tunnel through a wall with my forehead than to explain this shit to her)
1. Just because your son is an idiot doesn't mean that we're as dumb as he is. It also doesn't mean you have the right to disvalidate our opinions because we're the same age as him.
2. Don't spout opinion as fact. You say that cultural relativism is one of your root beliefs and yet you blatantly judge me for being a Californian every day. (You hate California so much, go back and get your degree in Wyoming)
3. We all go to the same school, so... guess what, I'm your peer. Don't give me bullshit arguments when you say something stupid, I deserve at least a little bit of thought on your part.
I just wonder why you couldn't manage to do it when you were my age, since you're so wonderful.
(Anyone who wants to flame me about how its hard for a mother to go to school yada-yada-yada, my mom did it, and she did it as a single parent, so you can go fuck yourself. =D)

2There was an old lady in a class I just finished. She was 67 years old, retired with no intention to use this education for any type of career, she just wanted "personal enrichment".
That would've been fine if she could enrich herself quietly. For 6 months all she did was interupt class with her incessant babbling. Every time the instructor would try to teach this lady would argue with her. She was one of those old people who, just because they're old, know more than everyone else and refuse to believe otherwise no matter how right everyone else is.
