New Shoes

I hate breaking them in. I have wide feet and most shoes are made for thinner feet. So IF I buy a new pair, I want to cut my feet off by the end of the day because they are covered in blisters.

I have a love hate relationship with shoes

Sounds like you're destined to wear Crocs the rest of your life.

Best advice I've ever heard is to try them/buy them later in the day as your feet are 'swollen' (wrong word) and you can better tell if they're gonna be a comfy fit :-)

*And avoid places that don't have wider sizes! You may pay a bit more, but it's worth it...

I have the same problem, especially with heels. Usually you can ask for them to be stretched at the store - sounds weird, but it really cuts down on the wearing-in time, and I almost never get blisters.

My boyfriend has big feet and the shoe store sold him this spray that sort of stretches or wears in your shoes in a matter of hours. It's like a softener, but only for leather shoes. Try that.

For leather you can use shaving cream. just coat them in it on the inside and outside and leave it for a few hours (i always did overnight). then run them under the faucet in the bath to get it all off. it might take a while to dry, but it works.

See, the new shoes I got aren't leather :( they're almost like a jean material. I'm not sure if soaking them will be the same as leather. Plus, they have rubber toes and that is super tight too lol.

Thanks all for the advice :)

Sounds like you have a Converse shoe? Like the ones made of canvas? Those shoes are especially narrow. I do believe they make them in wide width. Also, maybe try loosening the laces. I do know for sure those shoes do stretch with time though.
