The only problem I have with universal health care

I don't want my taxes being spent on self-inflicted stupidity.

- Smoking

- Taking drugs

- Obesity

- Being a freak who cuts themselves

- Getting drunk

- Doing idiotic things like setting off bottle rockets from between your legs, etc.

Those people disgust me and I think they should have to front the cost of their stupidity. I don't want to have to pay for it.

    Obviously your ignorant.

Like #1 said, your tax dollars is being wasted on a lot of other things.

Think about all the people that can't afford health care and get the chance to go to the doctor for once.

And people that cut them selfs are not freaks.

I'd rather see my tax dollars help sick people than see them spent on handing welfare checks to fat, lazy, ignorant hillbillies who abuse the system and refuse to work. Or paying police, like our local town pig, to sit in his cruiser all day at a radar trap wasting $4 a gallon gasoline so he can stay cool with the AC on. Or the abovementioned war. Or giving NASA 5 zillion dollars each year to study the rocks on Mars.

Your tax money is being spent on "self inflicted stupidity." When these people who can not afford it go to the hospital, the hospital eats a loss, and then passes that loss onto the other consumers in the form of higher prices.

With universal health care, the government can bargain with drug companies for lower cost prescription drugs. That is why prescription drugs cost more in the US than in any country on earth.

It would be a serious mistake to think that you are not paying for these people now. The difference is that with universal coverage, the government has bargaining power for better prices, and companies dont have to pass on losses to the few people who can afford it.

Who the hell do you think pays for them now? Do you think someone on welfare has an HMO? YOU pay for it. At least if it was socialized it wouldn't be artificially inflated to pad the doctor's bottom line.

    number 3,

I know alot of money is wasted on other stupid shit. I'm not against people seeing a doctor either, just against my money paying for self inflicted stupid butt fucked retards.

It teaches self responsibility, something severely lacking these days.

Why should I pay for someone who purposely injures themselves and intentionally does something that they know harms them? Wasting our money. Let them deal with it.

Guess you’d also have to cut off those that use cell phones, microwaves, sit at the computer, won’t move away from cell towers and hydro lines, work in any HazMat field or environment (which is just about every industry), don’t exercise like the dickens, eat hydrogenated products, processed food, vegetables and fruits sprayed with residual pesticides, apply pesticides to their lawns, buy flowers (also grown and sprayed with pesticides), drink sherry out of their heirloom crystal decanter, consume or use anything that hasn’t been tested on an animal first for at least a couple of decades, drink out of aluminum cans and/or plastic bottles, and eat or use anything with an artificial colouring, flavour, sweetener, preservative, scent and/or chemical you can’t pronounce, or hormones.

Jeez – waiting for a room in the hospital is just looking better and better!

    :-)

10 is just an idiot. Bring something intelligent to the table.

Unavoidable is not the same as intentional. If you drink a bottle of cancer, that would be your own fault. Getting it from some other means is not.

    Get a life. And a brain. K?

smoking cancer sticks (cigarettes, just in case you can't figure that out with your seemingly limited intellect) when they are clearly labeled is also your own stupidity.

I draw the line between what is labeled as bad and widely known to be bad and what is avoidable.

Well, if you can’t factor in the horrible realities of any addiction or psychological affliction into your seemingly finite world-view, it’s you in fact, who could improve on your own potential cerebral aptitude. And if by chance you’ve had to deal with such people in your life personally, it sounds like you as well, have issues that need to be worked out. Just saying…
