My poor dog
My dog has urinary bladder stones, he's only 3 years old, and I have fed him nothing but Science Diet (which is the Vet recommended brand) since he was a puppy. I don't even give him table scraps. This is my first dog, so I made sure to take the best care of him. Now that this problem has come about, I don't know what to do. His vet bills are going to run me well over $2500, and I just don't have that type of money. It's so sad because he is so young. I'm only 22 and I'm a student so I have a lot of expenses as it is. Putting him down or giving him away is NOT an option. My vet doesn't have payment plans, so I basically have to pay everything up-front. Should I just apply for a credit card for the sole purpose of paying his expenses? I'm so frazzled over this, I can't make sense of anything.Rating:3.00

I don't know where you live, but maybe it doesn't matter. You CAN get pet health insurance. Try online searches... I'm SO sorry for your wee dog - those things HURT!
And don't even get me STARTED on vets who are SUPPOSED to be in it for the love of animals!!! Ca$h on the Nail Ba$tard$!!!
Actually, I found a vet when I had to take my cat in who was FAR cheaper than the others! Called "St. Francis" (the TRUE lover of animals)
Last best thing - ya the credit card... UGH (and check the ones with better interest rates - lots have introductory rates that are WAY low - usually for 6 months. FUCK the 18%!)

I replied to you in the Quick Vents. Check with a rescue group, they might be able to help. There are also national groups they could refer you to, who give grants for cases such as these. Also check with another vet to see if they will let you make payments or at least give some sort of discount. And finally, call ALL of the local shelters and see if they can help in any way.
There IS help out there, I have worked with animal rescue for 10 years and there are lots of resources.
