Parents who blame others

I cant stand idiot parents and other people who want to get rid of violent tv or video games and think society is too violent for their little kids...grow the fuck up and realize its not society that raises our children, its the parents. Its not the video games fault that your kid might grow up and shoot up a school or rape a kid. its your fault for raising them wrong. Stop blaming everything else besides yourself. Dont ruin the world for everyone else cause your scared your kid will see too much violence on tv...BE A PARENT AND PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR KID AND MONITOR THEM.

I agree with you for the most part although as a parent I must say that I appreciate all the help I can get. It's impossible for me to monitor what my kids do all the time and if they go to a friends house and that friend's parents are the type that don't care about their kids, my kids can still watch movies I don't approve of or surf the Internet unsupervised, eat food and drink sodas we don't allow in our house, etc.

I monitor my children and supervise them on the Internet and have filters set on the browser on their computer and my wife and I are vigilante about what they watch on TV or listen to on the radio, but short of making them prisoners and controlling everything they do from the time the get up until the time they go to bed, we can't do it all by ourselves.

i grew up playing violent games, watching violent movies, hearing curse words and seeing playboy magazines. I don't have any criminal record whatsoever.

    #2 FTW!

On another point, I'm glad to see that parents like #1 still exist. You really care about how your children grow up, and I admire that.

But really, violence is a fact of life that extends beyond movies and video games (I got beaten up a few times as a kid). You learn to be strong.

no criminal record, and not committed a crime are 2 different things

this is about raising kids to be moral, not raising them to not get caught

"I don't have any criminal record whatsoever."

Like #4 said, just because you have never been arrested or convicted doesn't mean you are a good person.

i grew up down from the kid whos parents where in his business any chance they could get. Once the kid got to college he fell right on his face. His mommy wasn't there to talk the professors into giving him the grade. Parents need to have supervision over their kids but let them grow up and make mistakes, if that means getting in trouble then so be it. It will make them stronger and will succeed later on in life.
