Troll SHUT UP
Okay, I've been commenting on many of the posts that I'm interested in, and I've started to notice a trend:1. Someone posts a vent, with at least a somewhat legitimate complaint that I agree with (ie: The educational system... ) or a post who's complaint I disagree with (ie: down with religion).
2. I comment on the arguments made by the author
3. Person or persons reply (often the original author) reply either intelligently agreeing, disagreeing, or defending their point
4. Point, counterpoint, and rebuttal
5. People start targeting either myself or the other intelligent people with insult, rather than addressing the issues that are being debated.
So what I'd like to complain about today is the conduct of the contributors to Step #5… Very simply: if you have no point to make, shut up. Or, shriek your immature insanities, then leave. Either way, I'm ignoring you. You have nothing valid to say. I think they call you "Trolls", and it's clear that you have little else to do then anonymously berate people. Congratulations, you're the champions of the Ego Masturbation Contest.
If you have something useful to contribute, I'm all ears, but let's face it Troll, you don't.
So keep stroking your self-confidence - just don't let it get in the way of 7th grade reading assignments, mommy will be mad - and you'll be sure to find out just how much I don't care.

Good point. I've been following the comments on my post (the educational system...who knew it would be so popular?!?) and you always respond and interact with intelligence and basic decency. It's refreshing, since the internet gives such anonymity, people feel free to throw random slurs at people for no reason.

I try not to ignore posts that "show [me] to be wrong", and instead try to respond to these with counterpoints. Some of the time I do not see these posts, or do not adequately reply to them, but it's very difficult both responding to anonymous posts and wading through the nastier stuff.

I like to throw insults, and I also like people who insult me. It's great, I can call someone names, and they can call me names right back, and in the process we can both learn new and creative insults. stop crying, QKJ.

For any of you that don't know what the term troll means when used to describe someone that posts on a message board, it refers to someone that post inflammatory statements in an effort to elicit a response.
The best way to deal with trolls is to ignore them. They don't get what they want and leave.

reasonable people like QKJ? Ignoring things that demolish his views by saying for example "oh i'm not talking about medical marijuana" since that is a good reason to legalize it and therefore invalidates his entire prejudiced, stereotyped viewpoint.
