Employee Without a Face

We recently hired a person to be the vice-president of our company. The most unsual thing about this new vice-president is that he used to do my job at the organization about 1,000 years ago... So he has two cents to say about every movement that I make. If it isn't done the way he used to do it, then it is suspect.

The vice-president has started treating me like an old sock. I'm a hard worker to the point that I often miss out on personal time because I'm constantly involved in project after project. This is nothing to be proud of or boast about. Infact, I sometimes am ashamed that so much of my life pass by and all I have to show for it is an empty social calendar.

How do I get this vice-president off my back so that I can make confident decisions and stand my ground without being thought of as incompetent?

The crazy thing about this new leadership that I'm under is that it's making me think negative not only about the new vice-president, but also about my myself.

I'm not looking for a pity party. I'm looking for good, solid advice.

Talk to him directly about how he is making you feel. If he seems to value what you say, and makes an effort to change, you can work through it. If not, be cordial, but begin polishing your resume

Talk to the president. Have him fired.

How can he expect you to preform your job the same way he did "a thousand years ago", surely things have changed since then?

He's obviously selfish and arrogant and thinks he's better than everyone else. Or, he thinks he must impress the president and this causes him to act like a Nazi. If none of the above works, do this:

    1. Give him a change of address without him knowing it.
    2. Give his e-mail address to every porn site you can find.
    3. Phone up escort services pretending to be him but make sure the call-back number is the President's phone number (home & office).
    4. Hang monkey heads from the tree branches of his front yard.

Stop caring so much about your damn job. Seriously. Don't be so involved. Get a life. Then you'll be happier when he treats you like a sock. Relax a bit. Just chill.
