Hmmmmmm

Hey, remember the days when things were made in North America? Remember those days when only one parent HAD to work? Remember? What the fuck happened?

Nothing is made here anymore. Both parents HAVE to work and almost every damned thing is made in China.

So now, we work for some multinational based in Dubai, wear clothes that are made in China and drive a car from Korea.

North America used to be self reliant. We used to have jobs that payed well enough to raise a family, buy a house and still have enough money to go on vacation once a year.

Not anymore. Instead of raw materials from here bring used here, we send those same raw materials overseas to be manufactured in China.

Who is benefiting from this? Not you. Not me.

So, what are we going to have here, kids? A bunch of CEOs with tons of money and their serfs. Us.

I say fuck China, fuck the CEOs, fuck industry.

We want our lives back.

We want our jobs back.

We want our futures back.

If you invent a time machine and can transport me back to the 60's let me know. I want to go back to a time just like Leave It To Beaver or Mayberry RFD. I'm tired of technology and feminism and just want to go back to the simple times when women ran the household and men worked and dinner was ready when they came home.

Well, back in the old days the U. S. basically had the monopoly on good living, we exploited everyone else's natural resources and dirt-cheap labor and import costs so that Americans could have the good life. Now, the rest of the world has caught up, and EVERYONE feels entitled to a couple of gas-burning cars, 3 square meals a day, an air-conditioned bungalow, health care and retirement. It's just a matter of no-longer-enough-to-go-around.

Really? There aren't enough resources in North America? I find that terribly hard to believe.

It's funny how these CEOS make hundreds of millions.... How the hell can ANYONE USE THAT MUCH MONEY????

Imagine the way the U. S. would be if it were a *little* more distributed.

Careful though. While I totally agree that no one needs that much money, at least for themselves, we don't want to convert to communism.

No shit. As if we can't figure out the difference between communism and having 8 people have 99.9% of the country's money. Just freak out instead of figuring it out.

You need to read The World is Flat.

That book will teach you how to look at this global flattening a little bit more in a positive way. There are a lot more factors than you listed and you will be surprised, and who knows, you might see a few opportunities!

See (Google) the movie "The Corporation" - you can watch all 23 segments online for free - tho the film makers could use a bit of funding since they went to all the trouble... (and no, I don't work for them)

What's that expression?? Oh yeah - "The fish stinks from the head down"...

Folks - they got us by the short n' curlies. All over the globe. The ONLY language they understand is the bottom line - the buck - vote with THAT!

Idiots don't realize the power we really have.

Lose the consumerism and stop buying every gadget they say you need and you could still live the good life.
