Go ahead and look down on me
So what if I work a part time job that pays $9.50/hr. Does that give you the right to be rude to me? Do you think that you're better than me. just because you work in an office in a cubicle staring at a computer screen. I have news for you it doesn't. But you know what...I'll net you in on a little seceret... I have an other job. And guess what, I made 70k last year with it. Whats even better about it is that I love every minute of it. I only work this other job just to occupy my spare time. I find that I like being busy. And I also like to find a positive and paying outlet for my extra energy. I do more before 8:00am than you do all week.I'm sorry that you are too stuck up actually get to know someone before thinking you're better than them.Rating:0.00

2You make $70k a year doing something you like but you work for $9.50 an hour doing something you're ashamed of. Yeah, that makes a lot of sense.

3To commenter #1. When McDonald's starts paying people $9.50 an hour I'm going to start demanding better service.

4to #2 the writer never said they're ashamed, they said they like to keep themselves occupied, and said not to look down on them because of the low status of their part time job.

5If he wasn't ashamed he wouldn't care what other people thought.

7there's a difference between being ashamed and not wanting to be looked down upon.
i can see that somebody's looking down on me for doing something and dislike that without being ashamed of what i'm doing

8Are you sure the person looks down on your because of the part-time job? Maybe there's something else they don't like about you or don't think is up to their standards.

9I think people that look down on others because of their job are not only ignorant, but ungrateful as well. If you are lucky enough to have a high paying job (and it DOES take a certain amount of luck) and priveledged enough to have went to college, you should be happy for what you have and treat others respectfully, because you will never know what could happen. You could lose your job at anytime and have to resort to taking a low paying job, or have no work at all.
Props to you on your 70k a year.

10I got a part time job this summer through my mom, and although her coworkers didn't look down on me, they were always somewhat shocked to find out that I'm a student at UCLA.
Somehow working in packing and shipping disqualified me from attending a UC in their minds.

11Accidentally pressed enter. But I was just saying that people build up ideas about others regardless of what truths they may be shunning.

12Why would you stay at a job that brings you to Ventibate to bitch, if you have another on the side making 70K?
If you like to be busy, why not volunteer somewhere that suits your interests. I bet you would be more appreciated.
