Down with religion
Look into any over the top, cruel and wanton atrocity in the world and chances you will find some scripture-spouting nutbar, judging, condemning, punishing and happily killing the innocent while cloaked in the garb of "faith". They preach love, but they practice exclusion, and they display a toxic intolerance to different views.Religious nuts are the ones most likely to start wars, to murder "because god told me to do it"... to drown their kids in a bathtub "because they were not pure", to smash their kids to death with rocks "because god said he would bring them back to life", to cut the arms off their kids and watch them bleed to death, to drive their car into a lake with their kids inside, to kill their wives and entire families because they weren't "godly enough", they kill to "get satan out", they tortured and burned innocent people (as well as animals) at the stake for centuries. "Believers" also make up a large number of violent prison inmates , and now the "holier than thou" are famous for molesting, raping, torturing, and threatening little children..... etc. etc. etc. the list goes on and on and on.
Funny how the majority of atheists and agnostics are intelligent, educated, well-rounded, scholarly, non-superstitious, non-threatening, critical-thinking, balanced, emotionally & mentally healthy and socially stable people who are capable of intelligent debate, and not prone to "magical thinking" (one of the hallmarks of mental illness and psychosis). 9 times out of 10 it's the religious nuts who are the real pathological crackpots.
Wackjobs have no interest whatsoever in educating themselves, and have no interest whatsoever in scientific evidence. All they care about is re-affirming their superstitious beliefs of disturbing stories of hell, damnation, devils, eternal suffering and ramming them down the throats of unsuspecting children. This is tantamount to child abuse. These nutbags should be ashamed of themselves! Educated, rational logical people should not have to tolerate self-prescribed psychotic people. Religious fanatics should be criticized harshly every time they open their dumbass mouths with their senseless drivel.
I will actively seek to oppose all kinds of theism, particularly evangelical types of religious infection, such as protestant xianity, catholic xianity and that tumor they call islam. These ideological people are bad and need to be answered with good information, propaganda, and memetic engineering - door to door if need be.
No violence obviously. We've gotta be careful. We're dealing with psychotic delusional fanatics here. Anti-theism needs to use the same memetic tools as the goddists have been using for centuries, just better. More scientificly grounded.

It's funny that if I share my religious beliefs with you I'm "cramming down your throat," but if you share your non-religious beliefs with me you're merely "expressing your beliefs."
Surely you must admit that the Judeo-Christian ethic has something to teach us all. Do you murder people? Do you steal? Do you tell vicious lies about people? Do you cheat on your spouse or, if unmarried, cause someone else to cheat on his or hers? Probably not. Those are a few of the Ten Commandments upon which our moral code is based.
Without the belief in a higher power, morality has no purpose whatever. It's what happens in the long run that counts.

What was that you said about a toxic intolerance to different views? Look in the mirror.

I tolerate different views... if there is something to back it up other than some ancient, fictional book.

Yes. That the molestation of children is OK.

The most intelligent people are quite comfortable accepting that humanity shares an ancestor with the great apes, whilst the least intelligent among us need to believe they are the spawn of a superbeing in whose image we are made. One would think the intelligent would have the greater arrogance and inflated sense of self, not vice versa.

The fact of the matter is that whether or not you subscribe to a religion, we're all a bunch of chimps. Don't argue with me on that point; you have ears like a chimp...you have a mouth like a chimp...you eat like a chimp...you point like a chimp and you scream like a chimp.
Now, having said that, you also fear the same way as a chimp and you act out similar to a chimp (though in more convoluted ways taking into account mankind's feeble attempt at higher reasoning)....so perhaps everyone's offenses - be it religious wars, witch-hunts, yadda yadda yadda - are simply a confused chimp's way of dealing with problems that cannot be solved without giving up a part of themselves that's deemed far too important to let go of.
To put it simply...the only way we're ever going to have some peace is to start thinking about how to prevent future generations from acting like the massive shit-hole that our current generation is...I mean think of it - how does religion propagate? Through the minds of the children (small chimps).

Any religious anti-evolution fool out there who sees fit to trash this opinion should take a look at themselves when they hurl their unenlightened replies to this post...you're only practicing the human equivalent of throwing feces. This, in effect makes you closer to our simian cousins than you'd like to admit.
And when it comes to believing the fear-mongering (under the guise of faith-inducing) that is called the bible as fact and truth, consider this. It's a compilation of stories spoken around firesides by many people over countless years, these stories have been passed from person to person and expanded upon for dramatic flair, and if anyone actually takes it as fact should try playing a game called "Purple Monky Dishwasher". Simply line up 20 ppl, and tell the first person something, let them pass it down the line, and see just how dramatically the original phrase has been altered. Now imagine how basic truths have been bastardized in the names of fear and greed over thousands of years...and possibly reconsider the value of that little gidebook called a bible.

Ideologies unleash passion, not rationality. The more passion required by an ideology, the less likely it is to be true.

I'd like to see the sources where you got "9 times out of 10 it's the religious nuts who are the real pathological crackpots." I mean that honestly; I really wonder what the actual statistics are on that. The extremists are the ones that stick out, but you can't think that's the norm. Until you do the research.

I just shit my pants. Now I am going to roll around in my shit. It really feels good. I like to smell it and taste it. Sometimes I try to put it back in my butt. It doesn't work.

ps: religion is not useless. Chastise it for having bad or good uses, but it certainly has use. And I would say that in the last century, that use has overwhelmingly been good.
