Religious people are retarded
'Nuff said really. Nothing like blinding following a bunch of primitive bullshit written by man.Not much of a rant and I had to think about approving this one for a while but I let it go anyway. Anything to stir up the religious people I guess.

Eh, it's what you make of it, I say. Believe what you want, just don't push it in my face. I think the followers of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster have a good idea.

If it wasn't for all those sheep the rest of us wouldn't have anyone to feel superior to.

Of course following science, which is written by man is vastly superior. Or following laws which are written by man.
And to the repeated anti-religion rants on this website...
It seems to be a recurring theme that everyone here hates religion because there is some sort of notion that religous people will relentlessly try to hoist their beliefs upon you. I will submit to you that by the repeated anti religion threads, it would seem as if (on this site at least) it is the athiests who are really trying the hardest to force their beleifs on others.

The problem is that the moral majority, who in reality represent a very small minority of the religious people in America, get a lot of press and attention so it seems like they represent all Christians.

"Of course following science, which is written by man is vastly superior. Or following laws which are written by man."
Science tells us the sky is blue. Look up. Wow! You have proven it.
Religion tells us there's a God. Look around. Oops....
The difference is the average person could verify pretty much everything science says by themselves through experiments and observations.
Religious people verify through a two thousand year old fictional book.

"there is some sort of notion that religous people will relentlessly try to hoist their beliefs upon you"
There are countless laws in the books that have their basis in religion. That is the problem people have with it. Freedom FROM religion. Also when people criticize religion publicly, they get in shit for it. So freedom of speech is also at stake.

Im going to go way out on a limb here and say that you have never sat through a high school level history or science class. Science has told us the earth was flat. Science has told us that there were humors inside people, and draining the bile would releive illness. Science has said much in the past that was later proved to be innacurate. The funny thing is, history repeats itself.

I'm pretty sure he's talking about modern science you fool and yes, of course science is not always right about everything but there's a big difference between a hypothesis and proof. Now we can fly into space and see that the earth is round.
The question is can science prove beyond a shadow of doubt that the universe was created by the big bang or that we all evolved from apes? Of course not, but then again, and here is the point, scientists do not tell us that the univers was formed by the big bang for a FACT, it's a fucking THEORY. However, Christians tell us that God created heave and earth and they claim it's a fact because some guy wrote it down in a book after God told him about it. LOL
Where I come from, if you tell people that you're hearing voices and they're telling you what to do, they ship you off to a fucking nuthouse, they don't make you a saint.

Much the same way as I cannot fully argue against the prevailing wisdoms of modern science, the people of the past could not argue against the science of their day. Time shows the fallacies of scientific reasoning. Centuries from now people will be laughing about all the stupid things our scientists thought.

It seems to me that anti - religious or atheist people are miserable.
I'm not religious, but at least some retarded people are happy. So if religion makes you retarded, I would rather be religious than miserable.
I see countless posts about how much people hate religion.
I don't see religious people venting about atheists though.
Maybe they are truly happier than those who decide to criticize everyone else's beliefs.
It's funny, once you have found your'e own personal truth, you don't seem to mind what anyone else thinks.
Bitching about someone's beliefs will get you no where but mad. This is not productive to your own growth as a human being, and it is a big waste of fucking time.
If you are so smart, get off your ass and get something done.
If you criticize people who have a religion, you are obviously not happy with the current state of your life and you should do something about it.
Concentrate your efforts elsewhere. This is fucking pointless.

In science, people's beliefs change as new evidence emerges. Can we say the same of religious people?
OH SNAP!

If you were to study the history of religion, you would see that people's beliefs have changed significantly.

Fuck that. Push your beliefs on people if you want, that's the point. I don't want people to kill other people, I push that belief on others. Well, that's been done already. But if you can't handle people trying to persuade you to believe something, then get the fuck out of a democracy.
That said, people who believe in religion are fucking morons. I'd love them to come push their shit in my face. I'll talk to them until they are the ones wanting to leave. Before I left the Catholic Church, while I still Believed and was starting to doubt, my honest questioning and talking with our priest ended up driving him to take an extended sabbatical. He got over it and came back, but after that he referred my questions to another priest-- one more theologically versed and with a much smaller capacity for critical thinking.

Religious people don't vent about Atheists because religious folk don't understand science. You have to have an understanding of something to adequately bitch about it. Most of their knowledge comes from a book of fairy tales that were poorly copied from previous fairy tales that had been passed down through the ages. EVOLUTION HAS BEEN PROVEN YOU MORONS.
