@ #1 - I said we wouldn't allow hate speech. This vent is about someone this person works with that he doesn't like and he's chosen to use a politically incorrect word instead of calling him black or African-American. That doesn't qualify as hate speech.

Why would you wish death or aids on this person because they stink, lie, steal, and are unattractive? That shouldn't mean they deserve to die.
If you know this person steals, then there is a reason to fire them. Plus, if he is grabbing his crotch at a coworker, that is sexual harassment, so there is another reason.
I really hate when people use someone's race against them. Like there aren't any disgusting white people out there. When someone says the same thing about someone who is white, they don't announce that the person is white, but they will to a black person.
And for the record, I am white.

I agree with #5 for the most part although it's pretty common for people to find some adjective to describe the person they're talking about. If he was white the OP would probably refer to him as trailer trash, scumbag, etc. but since he's black he chose to use the N word.

As the admin pointed out #9, it's not hate speech. it's hateful I guess because he's talking about how much he hates a coworker but just because someone uses the n word doesn't make what they say "hate speech". Look up the definition of hate speech some time.

Why is it only "hate speech" when the person being hated is of another race? Shouldn't it, by logical definition, mean you hate the person you are talking to/about without regarding race? How do we stop racism if we keep making exceptions and separations like this?
