Idiots
I've worked in a grocery store for about 2yrs. now. I've worked all around the store pretty much and i'm usually a somewhat decent human being, Bur now that i'm working stock and i get called up to run a cash register they still expect me to be a frickin robot and smile and be perfectly nice when i've got product in back that can spoil if i leave it on the floor too long. And people call in and say "Well it just seems like he doesnt want to be here!" Well no shit sherlock. If you were in my position you wouldnt be so happy either. I guess it could be the fact that i'm eighteen and they think i'm your average everyday lazy bum of a teenager. And just yesterday my manager says that they've received complaints about my attitude. fuck them.Rating:5.00

1there would be no problem if they let you do the job you were hired for. tell them that. if some other prick doesnt want to show up and do HIS job at the cash that's not your problem.

5I understand your dilemna. You could get up high in that store if you fake it if you don't feel it. I know it is awful to say, but that's what the top dogs want from you. And, if you act as flexible as a rubber band, they will reward you. Just say f to the vegetables and or other stuff going bad. It's your lovely bosses fault. Forget about it and try to just do the job. Document how many times you were pulled away from your floor job and if there is a question about it, be able to explain exactly why something bad happened on the floor due to your being pulled away. Or you could always quit and start over and work for another place that wants you to do the same type of stuff.

6I've been there too, the manager will MAKE you help out at the front, then ask you when the stock will be put away. "I DON'T FUCKING KNOW, I'M WORKING OUT THE FRONT NOW. IF YOU WANT ME TO PUT THE STOCK AWAY, LET ME DO MY FUCKING JOB! DON'T SHUFFLE ME AROUND!!!" - It's not that you're 'young and lazy', it's because managers cannot grasp the concept that you can only occupy one space at one particular time.
Here's my tip, get your resume together, find a better job, and tell the supermarket to get fucked.

9It's not always so simple as to quit. Stick it out until you do find a job, and then tell them to get fucked. Walk out on their asses at the busiest time of the day, throw things, curse and on the way out, show them your ass. That's what I did. FUCK THEM

11Find a way to obscure your name tag when you work the front. Or use someone else's. Or call the corporate office and complain anonymously about your manager - if he's busy watching his ass he'll have less time to go after yours. Meanwhile, wear a fake smile and just privately envision how each customer would look, covered in burning napalm and being hit by a dump truck.
