Class Clowns
You know... I'm in my 3rd year of college, and almost done with my degree... and I have to wonder if people will ever grow up.No matter what class I have, there is always a class clown. Now don't get me wrong I welcome a distraction in class once in a while, and we all enjoy the jokes, but is some of this necessary?
It is just rude when the teacher tells you "We are going to review for your final exam ONLY for today. If you aren't listneing and people want to disrupt me, I will end class and you can study on your own."
Now, I don't usally mind studying on my own when i need to, but you can't go wrong when an in class review comes straight from the test, and you basically have all the answers given to you.
There is always some 18 or 19 year old guy or girl who wants to make smart cracks at the teacher and it's funny the first time, but when it carries on for 45 minutes, and the teacher gets fed up and canceles the review, you're screwing us all over. If you don't want to listen just leave the class.
Then since the teacher is so fed up by the end of the class, they don't even try to help anymore. And that may be a sign that the teacher needs more patience, or to try to help the people that actually want to learn, but why can't the teacher just ask the disruptive ones to leave the class so the rest of us can get the information we need??

I hear you all the way. I work in academia and these class clowns really screw over a lot of people.
These professors, to a large extent, have been teaching for a long time and have put up with a lot of annoying 'kids'. They teach, do research, attend meetings, and so on. The one day they decide to stick around and do extra work (because nowhere does it say they MUST give a review), they get mocked and interrupted.
When I was in undergrad, a kid kept on doing things like this on quiz and exam reviews. The class started giving him a hard time, but he kept it up. A few days later, he showed up visibly beaten... It seemed a few of the frat guys really needed those reviews. he's one of the few that got what he had coming.
Some people just never grow up.

#2 here again. Mom and Dad couldn't afford to pay for my college. I went into debt and worked my way through. However, college is for so much more than just book knowledge. I got some real world experience called "life", and it was the best and worst class I ever took. I wouldn't change a thing.
Oh, and by the way, I graduated and am now employed in government.
I'd do it all again, too, you self-righteous little prick.
