Pot smoker
I'm in my mid 20's and i smoke weed. im pretty close with my parents, and i KNOW my parents smoke too, ive found their stash (i even used to steal from it, and take thier bowls when i was younger)ya know, i dont care that they smoke, more power to them.... but it sucks that they scold me for it, even though i have an amazing job, im putting myself through college, i keep a 3.8 GPA, and i have my own place, ive never asked them for money to help out or anything. is it really so bad that i smoke up after work sometimes, or on the weekends? its not like i do it all day every day, and its not fucking up my life. i just like to relax with it.... whats the big damn deal? i understand that they are just being concerned parents... and its not like i wanna smoke WITH them or anything.... i dont really know what i want out of it, im just sick of them telling me its terrible and being hypocrites when im better off now then i ever have been.

You want them to stop harassing you about it? The next time they start lecturing look them directly in the eyes and say... if its THAT bad then why do you toke up?
Or just tell them you quit and don't be stoned when you visit them.
They aren't supporting you in any way and you aren't damaging yourself so it's not their business.

They scold your for it because they know it will hurt you in the long run. They are mad at themselves for not quitting earlier and they just want you to be healthy.
We both know you're going to age faster, have a shitty voice, etc, if you don't stop smoking.

I'd say most people will have tried weed once in there lifetime. and, I see nothing wrong with smoking it every once in a while. You can grow addicted, but, the addiction rate is less than drinking, and kills less brain cells the first time you use it.
It's obviously not the best for you, but, there are far more worse things you could be doing.
Number 3, I haven't ever seen those side affects.
Number 5, It doesn't always fuck up your lives, if you have it controlled it's fine. and, the poster clearly said he/she only smokes it occaisonally.
Keep in mind it is illegal and you will get in big shit if your caught, that could possibly the reason why there worried. You have a life ahead and you don't need it ruined because you were caught with weed.

I'm not sure - I did re-read it again - but do they know that YOU know they smoke? Cuz if they're just being totally hypocritical, I'd call 'em on it and "innocently" guilt the shit outa them.

Actually i have asked them, if they have ever smoked and both of them responded "NEVER ONCE IN MY LIFE!" I know they are lying so i pressed the issue and kept asking more questions, and they quickly changed the subject and my mother suddenly had to use the bathroom and my dad needed to go check his e-mail. So yeah they were super uncomfortable, and they have to know that i know... and Fuck off number 11. im a deadbeat for being in college with a great GPA and putting myself through school and having my own place? yeah okay.
