OP is right about the prison thing... I first heard about this 10 years ago from a friend of mine who works in the criminal justice system. Some sanitized media sources will tell you it's because inmates aren't allowed to have belts but in truth it's one of the codes they use in prison to advertise for gay sex.
I laugh when I see teenagers dropping their pants without a clue as to what signal they are REALLY sending.

Wow! This site is SO educational! I always thought the saggin' pants was cuz the hand-me-downs from yo big bro in the hood didnt' fit - yet! Live and learn!!
Also remembered this stupid kid I was walking behind- his were made out of nylon/parachute material? It was a REALLY windy day and they were blowed up like balloons - and he COULD NOT walk! I almost pissed myself!

I'm just as racist as everyone else is (admit it or not!). If I want a football or basketball team, I'm going to find a group of black guys. If I have a math problem, I'm going to ask an asian. The people that the OP are referring to are of all races!!! These people are holding themselves back by 500 years by "Keeping It Real!" The "trend" of sagging pants originated in prison. Since inmates are all in identical uniforms, there was no way to distinguish status among themselves. So they wore their pants low to show boxers. Most of them had different ones on and the nicer ones were like a status symbol. Not only that, low pants are easy access LOL. In my opinion it's repulsive and for men to mimic the prison life and pretend they're thugs is such a turn off. There should be a law passed on the waist level of pants. PICK THEM UP BOYS.. Real men don't have their butts in plain view.
