Switching sides

I've been a republican since Eisenhower and now I will vote for Obama. I should have voted for that turkey-necked Kerry too, given how the things have unfolded over the last eight years. W was no republican. That crew were fear mongers and robber barrons, and we americans have been fleeced by our own. It astonished me that so few of my peers acknowledged it when it was so obvious. Of course, some were profiting quite obcenely as a result, so they would never admit anything was amiss.

And now Palin, the big smiley-faced queen of the pool's shallow end will strut and preen and pray and penalize us all for wanting godless social equality. Bringing God back into politics was the most foolish thing we as americans have ever done. The people who did it should be hunted down and shot as traitors. I'm sorry. I'm a christian but I don't think God intended me to stomach this amount of lying and greed at the heart of my nation, at least not without venting my disgust in a number of qiasi-satisfying ways

Well it's coming from both sides, and I have to wonder if all Obama's shit talking will alienate his would-be voters.... I have not made up my mind yet, but I am sorely disappointed.... I guess I should've known better than to expect so much of a politician :-/

^ You should've known better not to expect much from anyone other than yourself. Then you'd be pleasantly surprised by anything good done by anyone else.

#4, William Henry Harrison. He died within two months of taking office in 1841. NO time to do damage.

... So pretty much, we hate whoever gets elected?

Damn, I'd hate to have that job. It seems the equivalent of the weight of the world on one's shoulders. I'm gld these people want it so much as to strangle each other for it.

OP, most of us republicans aren't happy with Bush. He did great on keeping us safe, but was horrible with everything else. It didn't help that we had a complacent republican and democratic congress. If you vote for Obama though, it's like another vote for Bush. Every "un-republican" thing Bush did, Obama will do. Try to get past pure emotion.

McCain/Palin are trying to pull the libertarian-government-sucks Ron Paulbots like myself and it's probably working. My state will go hard for Obama so I can vote for Paul without worry of throwing away a vote.

People are tired of government screwing everything up and then taxpayers having to bail it out.

Obama wants to increase this bureaucracy.

    McCain wants to decrease it.

I say Trueman was the last great president. However, slick Willy ushered in 8 years of unprecedented fiscal good times.
