Pull up your pants

Next time I see someone with their pants halfway down their legs, I'm going to finish the job for them. I don't want to see your fat ass. Or your skinny ass. Nor, do I want to see your stupid hat with the straight brim and the tag still attached. I also don't want to see a GIGANTIC white shirt that goes down to your knees hiding whatever is your weapon of choice. I don't want to see your inch- thick faux-gold chain because we all know it's fake. I don't want to see a cross anywhere on you. Even if I'm agnostic, I still know that you are going to hell. I also don't want to hear you saying "It's African culture." No, no it's not. African culture would be traditional clothing with a headdress or something. African music would be African drumming with chant. Not rap or hip-hop. You want an accurate name for this culture? How about, criminal culture? That's where baggy clothing originated. And rap? Yeah, that was popularized by white people. And it sucked. Not to mention that for some reason or another, rappers are constantly getting in trouble. Gun charges, murder investigations, shooting incidents, assault, criminal records... What does this say about "your culture?" And what do rappers give to your community? The largest consumers of their music is the male group ages 15-24. Black, white, hispanic, whatever. How many of these do you think are ghetto youths? How much money do you think they spend on these rappers' CD's? That money is just being taken away from these areas that desperately need it. And do the rappers ever give back? "Oh, they speak for us. They know what it's like." Maybe, but they aren't speaking for you. They are rich. They are nothing like you. Their lifestyles are nothing like yours. You can wish and hope all you want, but the chances of you following in their footsteps are so slim. You will be poor, and uneducated, unless you make positive steps to avoid that. The worst advice I have ever heard, was "Get rich, or die trying." Fiddy is a dumb name to. I wouldn't pay one cent to hear your "music." Fuck you Curtis.

Actually, rap WAS popularized by white people. As was jazz, blues, R&B... the list goes on. Except rap doesn't really count because it's not real music.

To the wigger two comments up. Why don't you try doing something original instead of copying someone else's "culture". And pop him with your Glock? LMFAO. Dude, you gansta wanna-be wiggers are only good for one thing... a good laugh.

The issues that the venter describes are not only issues in American culture, but around the world as well. People all over Europe, Africa, and the Middle East have embraced hip hop culture as their own also.

Whether rap music is considered actual music or not is subjective. RAP stands for Rhythm And Poetry. If a beat mixed with some kind of poetry and melodies is music to some, to others it will not be, just as in the 1950's when rock and roll music was considered by some to be the voice of a generation, or beautiful musical expression, and by others to be just noise, the latter group consisting mostly of older white folks who did not want their music scene corrupted with any type of black sound.

Music carries into fashion. And music reflects life. Many people listen to punk music from the 1980's and wear a mowhawk and chains on their pants. they are expelled from society and the working class just as baggy clothes wearing inner city youths (along with suburban youths) are expelled from the norms of society.

Whether criminal, wannabe, or not, rap culture will not die, it will just be abnormal. The big question is, who are we to judge? Criminals exist at every level (think enron). To say someone is criminal based on the way they dress is absurd. Many of the poorest people have become successful and wealthy based on their own ambitions.

Here is the bottom line: Hating on other people is not going to get you anywhere. If you spend your limited time here on earth hating people because their identity or style is different from yours, will you ever achieve anything? I highly doubt it.

Stay true to you, and stop worrying about how someone else dresses or talks, and you will be much more fulfilled.

I don't think rap qualifies as music. I accept it as a legitimate form of entertainment, but it's really more spoken word than it is music.

You know who else does spoken word?

    William Shatner.

    Take that, Fiddy.

@ the last part of this one, I'm not a 50 fan, but when he says get rich or die tryin', all he's saying is that he refuses to live his life in poverty. He wants to make it and get a better life for himself so badly that he'd rather die than stay where he was. If anything, it's about not accepting the status quo if you don't have a good life. You may disagree with his methods of making something of himself, but when you really think about it, at its core the message really isn't that bad. Also, even though a lot of rappers have broken the law in the past, most of them aren't now and they're showing young black kids in the inner city that it's possible to make something of yourself. And you're making ridiculous generalizations: all rappers used to be and currently are breaking the law, no rapper has ever done anything for their communities other than take money out of them, etc. Just a few examples of rappers who have given back: Wyclef Jean created a foundation to provide humanitarian aid to Haiti, Immortal Technique co-founded a movement that provides health care to many underground rappers, Talib Kweli supports and performs at an annual benefit concert for political prisoners, Afrika Bambaataa sat leaders of rival gangs down together to discuss a peace agreement which actually made a big difference, MC Lyte is involved in Rock the Vote, anti-violence campaigns, and AIDS benefits, Darryl McDaniels from Run-DMC founded a summer camp for foster children, Chuck D, among countless other things, spoke out against conflict diamonds, David Banner has been commended for his work in Mississippi aiding in the recovery after Hurricane Katrina, but yeah, rappers never give back to their communities. I'm not even gonna try and convince you that hip-hop is music or art or anything, because you're entitled to your opinions, no matter how ignorant and hateful they may be. I just felt like shitting on some of the total lies in your little vent.

In Orlando, FL they are getting pretty damn sick of them stupid ass holes who run around with their pants down. It pisses people off to see it. I think it is sexual harassment.
Any way, they are thinking of passing Two laws in the city of Orlando. First, if you do it at school, you will be in trouble and the Principal can do what he wants with your dumb ass.
Secondly, they want to pass a city wide law giving the police the right to give you a fine if you do it in public.
