I'm tired of all the arm chair politicians in this country
Is the bailout a good thing or not? Fuck if I know, I'm not an economist and my crystal ball is broken and since even the experts can't agree how am I supposed to know what's the right choice? Is pulling out of Iraq all at once a good thing or should we pull out gradually over a period of years? Fuck if I know, I'm not a general and can't read Tarot cards.
Will the country be a better place if it's run by Democrats or Republicans? Fuck if I know, I'm not a lobbyist or politician and my time machine blew a gasket. The fact is that neither party has a track record that is worth writing home about.
My point is that I'm sick and tired of everyone in this country acting like they know how to fix our problems. Case in point is an email that several friends have sent me and which was posted here a few days ago where some idiot suggested that instead of an $85 billion bailout the money should be given to 200 million adult U. S. citizens because we'd all get $425,000 and it turns out that the mental midget can't use a calculator and it would actually be $425.

Democracy is all about arm-chair politicians buddy.
The government and government officials make decisions and the people judge them based on those decisions.
Obviously, with so much fucked up in our nation these days you are going to have a lot of people analyzing the issues and coming up with ideas.
If you don't like that the people of a nation have a voice in the direction of the country, go to Cuba.

It's a fucked up system, no doubt. Who the fuck knows on how they come up with some of the shit they propose. It's a bad deal we've all gotten here recently. Best thing I can tell you to do is ignore the idiots and vote for what best suits you, in this current time in your life. It is most likely not going to happen, but at least you gave it a shot at happening. I think the people of America are starting to wake up a little. I also think that it's a day late and a dollar short.

Ummm... #1... buddy, I never said people can't have opinions, my point is that they all spout their opinions like they know what they're talking about when they don't, just like the moron in the example I gave. That email is being sent around by thousands of people that think it's a good idea and none of them have taken the time to do the math and find out that the whole proposal was based on an error.
Opinions are like assholes. We all have them and we all think everyone else's stink.

im so fucking tired of this country being ruled by fuckers who are seriously screwing us over some fat ass companies and few people's interest. we are the people, we have the power. we can riot their fucking asses and take what belong to us

That's what's great about America. You guys don't know jack shit, but it never stops you from giving your opinion on something you know nothing about.

If any of us don't know about what our legislators are doing in Washington or our home states, it's nobody else fault but our own.
If we're not on the phone to our elected representatives when they do shit that makes our blood boil, it's nobody's fault but our own.
If we don't show up to vote, it's nobody's fault but our own.

Totally correct.
The reason why we don't know is because we're not supposed to. I don't mean that in a "it's all a conspiracy" way.
Put simply, information is power and the less we're fed the better for the elite.
So have another beer and give that perplexed look our masters love to see.

#10, we have to take the initiative. Why do we think everything, including knowledge, is going to be spoon-fed to us?
You can track and read proposed legislation on websites. It's not difficult.
Our republic was formed by action. 200+ years ago, a bunch of guys decided they'd had enough of the British and TOOK ACTION. It began as economic boycotts and civil disobedience and then when those ACTIONS didn't work, they picked up their guns.
If you don't like what's happening or feel there isn't enough information, get on the horn to ALL of your elected representatives and TELL THEM. Don't e-mail, nobody takes that seriously. Pick up the telephone. You may have to call more than once, but it's not like lifting heavy things.
We're at where we're at because we STOPPED TAKING ACTION. Every last damned one of us had better change that or the Pelosis and Cheney's of the world (depending on your political views) will run roughshod.
