Some of homosexual people CAN be grating on nerves. More precisely, people who are compelled to advertise their sexality to all present, regardless of weather they are interested in knowing that, or not.
Speaking from personal experience - not every single person who fancies their own gender feels the urgent need to let the world know. Actually, it`s vice-versa - people who are secure in themselves and being gay are hardly the ones to mention that, unless it`s REALLY important to mention.
As I understand, rant is not about that, but about sexually-confused youth, who indeed are known for being overly vocal whenever they pick any specific kind of sexual preference or kink. That much people usually refer to as TMI, and yes, person who does that continuously is asking for a good hard left hook in jaw.
