Freakshow

My husband and I decided to go out for a quiet dinner at our favorite sushi restaurant after a couple of stressful days at work. We were seated in a booth adjacent to a couple, Granny, and a (lunatic) child. Well, the little monster started up right away. He proceeded to scream, pound, pull on the blinds, laugh maniacly, lean over our booth, run around, jump, etc. while his parents begged him to stop, but did nothing to stop him. Obviously, this little shit didn't have all of his oars in the water, but his Mommy and Daddy must subscribe to the modern philosophy that it's society's job to understand their "special" child, even if the little shit is ruining the dinner experience of everyone around him. Anyhow, I told the waitress that the kid was obnoxious, and we moved to another table. Meanwhile, Nutboy must've pulled a real stunt because everyone suddenly jumped out of the booth, including Granny. The poor waitress kept going back and forth with a wet rag trying to clean up whatever disaster had taken place. The mom took the brat to the bathroom, probably for a gentle time-out and a little talk, when what she should have done was crack his bare ass when he first started acting up.

Just to clarify, it is NOT my civic responsibility to understand or empathize in this situation. I didn't go to Chuck E. Frickin' Cheese for dinner. I went to a nice restaurant with the expectation of enjoying a peaceful dinner with my husband. I didn't sign on for a freakshow. These moronic parents need to leave Junior at home with a babysitter or handler or whatever or whoever can keep him from terrorizing everyone else.

You're right, they should have paddled his ass at the first sign of misbehaving. I am sorry that your dining experience was ruined by the careless inconsideration of others.

I hate that! and to me this doesn't seem like a kid who can't comprehend correct behavior it is just lazy ass fucking parents, i have seen kids with downsyndrome act more appropriate than this shit did. the parents should at least know that their kid is being a nuisance and correct his behavior or at least leave so the rest of the diners can enjoy their meal they are paying so much for. this reminds me of people waiting in line for something talking on their cell phones and asking for a little privacy because you are staring at them, and to everyone i have said "no you can't, cause you're in PUBLIC"

Yeah, you expect incidents like that at BK or Arby's, but when I go out to an upscale place I am paying for the dining experience, not just the food, and crotchfruit like those really grind my fuckin' gears. It's all I can do not to slap 'em.

It doesn't matter how retarded a kid is, he or she can still understand pain and what actions will induce this pain and others that will be rewarded with praise. I'm glad that my parents put the fear of God into me at a young age because it helped develop me a conscience and be fully aware that my actions had consequences. Just because a child is mentally deficient doesn't mean it can't establish a clear understanding of right and wrong.

Dogs very quickly respond to "training" and I'm sure that all the parents needed for that little mistake was good shock collar and a reliable trigger finger. Problem solved. Is this a little harsh? Why? There is no permanent damage that is being done and the message is clearly sent and received. I think all kids should come with shock collars and leases.

^ "It doesn't matter how retarded a kid is"

No, what matters is how fucking retarded the parents are about child-rearing.

I hate children like that. I was helping out at some kid's birthday party and they all decided to chase me around the room with with the intent of either tickling me or molesting me since their greasy hands shot between my legs more than thrice 8(

They need punishment. Damn, when I was a kid if I'd even interupted the waiter at a restaurant I would've been smacked round the head. Dare I say it? Kids these days...
