Will obama take a pay cut?

He talks about understand the little man, but he will be earning 400,000 with a total of almost 100,000 expense account. Do you think in more than a few months that he will still understand the little man?

why not tax a pay cut down to lets say 100,000. Then i might believe that he is willing to understand.

He is running the free world for the same price as a middle management executive that works for Halliburton. Seems like a pretty good deal to me.

I wouldn't begrudge him a cent of it. It's a 24/7 job and probably ages a person 5 years for each year in office. The owner of my company makes just as much and he only shows up once a week or so!

Oh, silly me.. I read the title of this rant wrong. I thought it asked if Obama is going to take a pay cunt. I was going to say why not, everyone else who occupies the oval office has.

^ Pay? That's what interns are for, silly.

^ That really didn't work out too well for Slick Willie, now did it? Interns tend to have big mouths (which can be a benefit and a drawback), and only like to give head to get ahead. They expect shit. Whores are more easily dealt with... they take untraceable cash, and no one misses them when they go missing and turn up dead later.

You idiot. 1) that is NOTHING in the grand scheme of the U. S. budget. the budget which conservatives want to cut back, and then spend BILLIONS on useless, losing wars that they just can't let go of and admit defeat. and 2) i assure you he already has more money than you (in order to even CONSIDER running for president you have to be far more wealthy than the average person). and he still understands your needs because of his values, not his income. NO candidate is as poor as you probably are. if you think millionaire mccain understands you, think again, pal. 3) he will more than EARN the salary he is awarded. the stress, knowledge, patience, etc. that the job will require are far larger than your little mind can comprehend. if CEOs (who fucked up the entire economy) make more than the president, who runs the entire COUNTRY, i wouldn't worry about the president being over paid. he does not make nearly as much as NBA stars or the movie actors we idealize. i know your angry cause you are like 'well i attach part A to part B, ALL DAY LONG, and it hurts my brain to remember how they go together, and i only get $15,000 a year. and here comes this LAZY ass president who wants to STEAL my money in taxes (cause i don't get how the tax system works, i think this) for his salary. HELL NO!' but don't worry honey, he is gonna earn that extra cash.

I think number 9 should have spent a little more time in school learning how to write English.

Look how much professional athletes are making in this country and you want the president of the united states to take a pay cut? Get your head out of your ass.

^ I personally think that professional athletes are overpaid crybabies, just like their Hollywood counterparts.

Instead of asking the rest of us to donate to charitable causes, why don't they put their fucking money where their mouths are?

While #9 doesn't understand paragraphs, he hit the point right on the head.

Look at it like this: Estimated receipts for fiscal year 2008 were $2.66 trillion dollars... That does not include the money spent on either Middle East conflict. In 2009 the US will spend more. If you want this in an exact percentage, this would decrease the US budget by 0.0000000128%.

And of course he's going to remember the little man, he is going to want to be re-elected in 2012.
