Laughing Hyena
Laughter doesn't bother me. I love to make people laugh. I love to laugh.What's driving me absolutely crazy is my co-worker's laugh. She laughs REEEEALLY loud. She laughs at things customers say that aren't funny. She laughs at things I say that aren't funny. She laughs at things she says that aren't funny.
Yes, I DO have a sense of humor. A very good SENSE of humor. It's just not sensible to me to laugh at EVERY little thing people say.
She'd laugh long and LOUD if you told her your shoelace came untied. Granted, it would be funny if you told her your shoelace came untied and you tripped on it and fell on your face! THAT would be funny! But just that your shoelace came untied??? My SENSE of humor doesn't pick up on the funny.
It's semi-amusing to some when they hear it for the first time. I've also heard others gasp and mutter, "OMG! Did you hear that laugh?". How could you NOT hear it??? It's LOUD! And she just keeps on laughing long after the joke is over.
Even some of our regular customers are starting to get annoyed ~ "someone should poke her in the eye so she quits laughing". Her boyfriend told her he'd like to slit her throat when she laughs like that. I feel his pain!

Actually, she's laughing like that for attention, women have a severe problem with getting it, too much is never enough, just another one of their insecurities........

I have to agree; an annoying laugh irritates the crap out of me and I can't help but loathe the sight or sound of that person afterward. About the only thing worse than an annoying laugh is a terrible odor, but that at least can be avoided if you're careful.
I say that you kick her in the twat and see if she still laughs about it. Or hey, I always love using the dog shock collar method. Works great on naughty children as well!

Record her laughter the entire time you're working with her and then play it outside her bedroom window while she's trying to sleep.

I have a SIL who has a horrible laugh. It's almost like Spongebob's. Unfortunately, I can't escape her as she is part of the family, so I just have to grit my teeth and ignore her as much as possible.

#11 is a good start. Cept play it in the office. And/or make up and ad or a business card - auditioning for canned laughter - and leave it on her desk. If she's "insecure", let HER work it out - quietly!
