Coming from a city with a high population of pre and post-op transsexuals, they are troubled to say the least. Along with body issues and social ramifications, they're tormented mentally as well.
Prostitution is prevalent (to earn money for surgery), drugs to escape their reality and they long for family and social acceptance.
There is a kinda halfway house for them up the street and after watching what they go thru before, during and after the transition, I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy.
