And how about that DNS that you can't resolve? I've only had the same provider quite happily for 6 fucking years!
Oh, and me not being able to turn off file-sharing, UNLESS I'm using Windows Firewall (TM)? Explain this reasoning, please! Give me a chance to "take care of myself" and I'll show you a smooth, safe, and secure operating system if you'd let me have that capability.

4Since Dell doesn't offer an XP option, I was stuck with Vista. I thought I'd give it a try (although my wife kept telling me to contact Dell and get XP). Well, she was right. I warn you, this piecie of buggy crap will try your patience, and ultimately you will be cursing Microsoft after hours and hours of wasted administrative effort to stabilize and customize your pc and then having to start over with XP.

5^ Dell sure isn't what they used to be. A co-worker of mine is on his 3rd desktop unit. The first one wouldn't even boot up. The second one kept crashing for no discernible reason. The online tech at Dell was stumped. And oh yeah, each machine has Vista.

There hasn't been a WinBLOWS this bad since mother fucking Windows Me. 2000 was still theri crowning achievement but they decided to fuck that over by adding their BS asshole code into the good one for a huge fuckfest of garbage that results in Vista. 8I got a new laptop for xmas but it came with vista. There's a no-holds-bar year long warranty for it so I'm going to go ahead and shit on the keys, close it, and send it back for "repairs".

12am i the only person who thinks that, like, 99% of people that complain about vista just like jumped ont he bandwagon when the first few people criticized it? I have working with computers for 15 years and I got vista a few day after it came out, and I think its great operating system when used on decent hardware.

13Vista is total shit. I bought a brand new HP laptop with it on it, spent 3-4 fucking hours trying to get my virus software and IBM Client Access going (yes they were both supposedly 'vista compliant') and finally ended up formating the drive and re-installing my trusty XP Professional. It's a fucking dog - my friend that works at one of the major school divisions in my area says that they are definitely NOT upgrading to Vista for a minimum of 2, maybe 3 years (based on preliminary tests on off-network machines).
A resource-hungry pig I've never seen the likes of - my boss has the same laptop running Vista and his processor fan runs almost continuously with 2 gigs on-board. Mine - rarely ever.

1515 years who the fuck are you? I mean really.. Vista runs great on decent hardware.. .yes I agree, but it shouldnt need 2gb of RAM, a 512mb graphics card and a fucking Dual Core just to run goddamit! OS's were designed originally to run on a "thong" sized slice of your system resources not a half a fucking granny pants worth!!
