This fucking war

This stupid fucking war has been going on for 5 years. The death toll (if you include Iraqis, which the media doesnt for some reason) stands at over 1 million. A million people have fucking died. This war has claimed more american lives than the previous 30 years of Saddam's regime. How have we alleviated a threat?
Now, as our country looks to change things, we are bombarded by stupid fucking politicians. Obama and Clinton both say we will still have troops in Iraq at the end of their administration. McCain has said we may be there for a hundred years. As if the notion that my great grandchildren might be fighting this fucking war is not scary enought, He has even joked that "Iran is like that Beach Boys song, you know Bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran." The senselessness is incredible. I am paying an assload for my education because the government is cutting back on funding. For some reason Iraq is more important. My brother is in the army and is fixing to embark on his fourth tour of duty in a few months. Kinda fucking senseless. If he chooses to put in his 20 years, he might be in Iraq for 15 of them.
It is all so fucking pointless, and yet there is nothing we can do
Fuck this war

Supporting anyone for President besides Ron Paul would be slightly hypocritical. NONE of the other candidates will end the war, including Barack and Hillary.

And since Ron Paul has less than a snowball's chance in Hell of becoming President, the war becomes a non issue when choosing a candidate.

Even if the Iraq debacle ended tomorrow, the warmongers in the "defense" industry would start another war to keep the shekels flowing. Iran, Venezuela, whoever, just keep fucking with the rest of the world until someone hollers and then use that as a justification to invade. It's been going on for decades and shows no sign of abating as long as the big corporations and their profiteers call the shots.

^^Even if Ron Paul has less than a snowball's chance in hell, that doesn't mean that you shouldn't vote for him if you like him. People think that voting for somebody who is unlikely to win is "throwing away" their vote. That's bullshit. That's the kind of think that has gotten us into this two party hell hole of a government. We have more fucking choices at McDonalds than we do in who we elect!

    Fuck the political parties!

Since Ron Paul announced he has no intentions of running as a third party candidate, supporting him is a waste of time and you won't have the chance to vote for him anyway.

The media doesn't include the Iraqis because we don't give a fuck how many Iraqis die. That's what we went there for, to kill fucking Iraqis.

^^Right. Vote your conscience, not the lesser of two evils.

Um... your numbers are way off. Actually your point of view is way off, but I digress. You can't bitch about that which you know little. Why does nearly every elected official that ran on an anti-Iraq war platform change their tune once in office? Because they are presented with information (wisely) unavailable to the public. The only thing you said I agree with is that politicians are phony... Increasingly, we Americans are forced to choose between two equal unqualified candidates or our votes are wasted.

My numbers are not way off. We have not had another president elected since the start of the war, so I dont know how the hell you would say they change their tune once in office.

Hmm, unavailable to you, too, I assume? Or did you just pull that out of your ass?

"We have not had another president elected since the start of the war, so I dont know how the hell you would say they change their tune once in office. "

The fact that you blame everything on Bush is evidence of your ignorance. The president doesn't start or maintain wars. That's the job of congress. The only thing a president can do is veto or approve decisions made by congress. That's how our system of checks and balances works.

My comment related to "changing their tune" was referencing the recent mid-term elections that shifted the balance of power from Republican to Democrat. All those anti-war campaigners... yet they haven't changed a thing. Why?

"Hmm, unavailable to you, too, I assume? Or did you just pull that out of your ass?"

I have access beyond that of the normal citizen. That's about all I'll say on that.
