IRS bleeds us dry

Fucking taxes! I made LESS this year than last, and I end up paying in MORE! I've been going over every possible deduction but I'm fucked. It really pisses me off when I hear about all the money this goddamn government wastes, day in and day out, when working bastards like me are getting wrung out to dry.

You should check out the Fair Tax. Read the book by Neal Boortz, or go to fairtax.org. It's genious, and although there are still some minor details to work out, the grassroots movement is growing everyday, and with Mike Huckabee talking about it during his campaign, it is really picking up support. I feel your pain, but am voting for Huckabee in the primaries mainly because of his support of the Fair Tax.

I like the Fair Tax too, but a vote for Huckabee is just a wasted vote. Of course, if you don't care one way or the other between Obama and McCain I guess it wouldn't matter.

The secret is to make more each year, itemize so you can take a bunch of deductions, and get into the 17% tax bracket.

I'm gonna comment on the 'comment' about the wasted vote. Ya know...every year I get to the booth and wonder which 'less of two evils' I'm going to vote for. This citizen is totally convinced that the 'mouthpiece' of a prez means zip in reality. So....I generally 'waste' my vote on a 'non' traditional party candidate. At least my 'wasted vote' goes into the 'disgruntled' stack with the rest.....

And....then I get 4 years to bitch for free! I voted, my horse lost....so I get to bitch.

Now, if my horse WINS and I'm not happy...well, that's a bridge yet to be crossed ;-)

I'm a factory worker and I pay huge taxes. I had put a little money in a 401(k) and wound up having to pull it out (at heavy taxes and penalties) in order to pay federal income taxes. How absurdly stupid. I changed jobs last year, taking a 60% pay cut. I figured surely I was now "poor" enough to not owe anything. I still owe $500. I am careful with money, I do try to get every deduction I can, and still the IRS makes sure I can't pay medical bills or save for retirement.
