Yeah he was the shit. Didn't burn out like a lot of good pro athletes do.

He is a great player, but even more than that, he was a great man. At all times he cared for his family. He was willing to retire when Deanna got cancer, but she wouldnt let him. He fought through his father's death. He fought through substance abuse. No matter what he dealt with, he was always honest. He dealt with his problems openly and honestly. He became better. By living his life without deception, Brett Favre became the elusive athletic role model. And to think, he also holds the record for consecutive games, td passes, yards,... etc

He was one of the greats for sure. He didn't have the charisma of Namath or a great arm or great mobility but he had the whole package.

Brett earned my admiration after his dad's death. It wasn't because he wanted to play to take his mind off of it. he played to honour his dad's memory. Speaking as a Raiders fan, it was the only time I have ever been okay with them losing a game. He was indeed the shit. You'll be missed you gun slinging son of a bitch.

brett is cool, but i thought he would play until he is 73. That would be much more impressive.

Terry Bradshaw had 4 super bowls in 6 years when the NFL was much more brutal from fewer QB protection rules. Brett is a class act and a wonderfull human being. Vick is a goon who deserves to be thrown into a pit full of angry dogs. I'll take the 1970's over todays low class athletes.

favre and vick should not be mentioned in the same sentence. Bradshaw was a damn good quarterback, but i would argue that he had a better supporting cast around him. Yes, there were fewer rules protecting the QB, but favre did play a hell of a lot more consecutive games.

For the past 2 years, he's jacked the Pack around with his whiny "i might retire", "i might NOT retire", "why didn't they get me Randy Moss?", "now i'm thinking about retirement again, but I won't, screw Aaron Rodgers, he'll rot on the bench while I take center stage, like a child craving and DEMANDING attention, screw him, it's all about ME, I WON ONE WHOLE SUPER BOWL, SO NOW IT'S ALL ABOUT ME, THE LEGEND BRETT FAVRE!!!", "ok, NOW i'm gonna retire", and less than 3 months later, "I wanna go to a "nuther team, cuz you guys won't roll over and DIE for me, the Legend BRETT FAVRE, like you should!!!"

Until recently (let's say, 2 years ago), I had all the respect in the world for the guy. But now? Screw this inmature, indecisive (just like his approach in the pocket) ASSHOLE. He wants to take an organization he's achieved so much MUTUAL success with, and act like this? Really? OK, let his primadonna ass go to the Vikes, or Da Bears. I hope that at least twice a year, the Pack's D-line batters this asshole into OBLIVION. Seeing his "return" cut brutally short by his former team would be ever so appropriate.
