I'm a pot smoker. Not going to lie, i fucking love the shit. But i cant stand when people who don't smoke act like its worse than cigarettes. WHO CARES? because YOU are the people that need to chill out and smoke some reef. your "facts" are wrong anyway. Cigs have so many more chemicals than pot does. Weed is organic, comes from the earth, its mother nature at her finest. Cigs have man-made chemicals as ingredients. you're not just sucking down tobacco, you're inhaling some carbon monoxide too among other things. look it up.smoke weed everyday.

That chemical free shit you think you are smoking was sprayed with windex to get you high, and don't forget that some mexican shoved it up his ass while crossing the border, and then they made sure it was stored in a plastic bag which releases artificial estrogen into your wonderful plant. one thing about weed is that it definitely does kill motivation. i've been smoking for only 2. 5 years now, and i've lost alot of my motivation to do anything. but im not complaining too much since i'm smiling and laughing more. feels good!!!

#30 Pot is illegal because it is a mind altering drug. You are not able to think clearly while on it and people lose their sense of reality. Cigarettes have the drug nicotine in them and yes are a drug, but you are able to think clearly and are aware of what's going on around you.
In other words, you wouldn't drive drunk and you can't do things while you're high. You can't perform daily tasks (such as driving) while high on pot/coke/any mind altering drug.
They would rather have you on cigs b/c they don't cause you to "get high" (they do constrict blood vessels and other effects, but you are still able to make informed decisions) for a lack of better words.

Funny, my pot is home-grown on American soil. It's never seen the inside of someone's anus, and the money used to grow and buy it does not support terrorism. It has been treated with fertilizer - not windex as some moron suggested.
#38, I know pot is illegal and bad for me. Just because it is illegal, doesn't mean it SHOULD be illegal. Just because it's bad for me, doesn't mean it should be illegal. Alcohol is bad for me. Tobacco is bad for me. Fast food is bad for me. Marijuana is bad for me. So why not arrest me for having a drink, a cigarette, or a big mac? Or better yet, let me make my own bad decisions regarding what I put in my body. Why should you care if I smoke pot? It doesn't affect you, no one would force you to do it if it were legal.
And before someone starts preaching at me "But it DOES affect me if you drive stoned" - it would also affect you if I drove drunk, yet I'm legally allowed to drink as long as I do it responsibly, so why not the same for marijuana?
Opium and cocaine do not grow out of the ground. Opium is made from Poppies. Poppies grow from the ground. People do not smoke poppies. I'm not sure of the exact process that makes opium, but it certainly does not spawn out the ground in finished form. Cocaine as well - the coca plant is put through a process to create cocaine. Heck, even tobacco gets all kinds of chemical additives before it's sold for consumption.
You know the process for marijuana? Grow it, harvest it, dry it out, smoke it. That's it. If you grow halfway decent pot, there's no need for chemicals and dangerous additives.
Of course, there are some unscrupulous drug dealers who will spray oregano with chemicals and sell it as pot. It reminds me of how several decades ago (during prohibition) moonshiners diluted their liquor with harmful substances to maximize their profit. Oh, it didn't stop people from drinking - it just made them more likely to get hurt while drinking. Isn't it funny how government regulation of a potentially harmful product (alcohol) actually made it safer for the public? Hmmm.... wonder if the same could apply for marijuana?
#39, I have a full time job. I don't steal to support my habit either. In fact, I'm quite honest. I know some people in their late 50's who have smoked pot for decades. A couple of them are VERY well off financially, and not because of drug deals.
So you say I'm trying to make up for my crappy life by smoking pot, eh? Funny, but I'm very satisfied with my job, my car, my home, my loving boyfriend, and my pets. I couldn't ask for anything more.
There are a lot of us functional stoners out there. Hell, you probably know a few, but you just don't know about their smoking habits. We're out there, and we won't stop smoking pot just because you don't like it, or because the government tells us it's bad.

#36, alcohol alters people's minds and makes them lose sense of reality too but thats legal. maryjane is just another person's "alcohol". you obviously have never smoked any, it doesnt do half of what people are made to believe it does. sure there's some exotics that'll make you feel like time is lapsing but you can still function. you still know whats going on around you. you dont hallucinate. you just get relaxed. and alot of times philosophical, you can have some of the most in-depth conversations you've ever had in your life when you're high. i wouldnt be surprised if alot of great thinkers throughout history have smoked weed. it frees your mind, it doesnt alter it so you can't operate.

#39, my life is beautiful. i smoke pot and i'm not trying to escape from anything. i work two jobs, i just finished another semester at college maintaining excellent grades, and i HAVE contributed to society by doing volunteer work in my neighborhood and i donate all of my clothes when the seasons for them are over instead of throwing them out. i look like a normal clean-cut person and people i meet are actually surprised if i tell them i smoke weed. not all so-called "potheads" are addicts, nor are we assholes. you obviously have an issue with stereotyping, maybe you need to pick up a joint instead of putting them down.
