Actually, the only reason the U.S. entered WWII was because American businessmen decided that it could become a profitable war. If you haven't noticed, war has been going on for thousands of years because leaders know that war is extremely lucrative. Ford motors manufactured tanks, boeing made superfortresses, and Oppenheimer made A-bombs. Its the same with the Vietnam war. The gulf of Tonkin was a completely fabricated event that plunged American forces into war with north Vietnam.

Just one little comment about WWII: yes, the US involvement was incredibly important - material assistance such as the Lend-Lease program as well as an influx of soldiers no doubt had an enormous impact on the course of the war.
But. The Battle of Britain was largely over by December 1941 - Hitler's planned invasion never occurred because of the success of the RAF and the Royal Navy. Despite the fact you appear to believe we "would all be controlled by the Nazis" if not for the United States, there were in fact quite a few other countries who participated in the war.
And for the record, yes, I am a "foreigner", but no, I don't think Americans are ignorant. Except for you.

I am an American, and I realise that US involvement in World war 2 didnt do a whole lot. It is arrogance that we lose 400,000 people and claim to have won the war and "saved the world". Yes, the Battle of Briton was largely over by 1941, but Hitler was defeated by one man and one man only: Stalin. Russia lost 29 million people in the war. There were battles that over 1 million people died. Thats right, twice as many people died in one battle than the US lost over the entire war. To say that we are totally responsible for winning a war is patently false. If Hitler didnt have such massive bloodshed on his eastern front, he could have focused more attention on the west

Actually, the US donates a lower percentage of its GDP to other countries than any other industrialized nation. While it is true that we may give a larger amount in terms of total dollar amount, when it is considered as a percentage of what we have, it is paltry

I;m glad someone brought up Russia's contribution during WW2. They lost HALF their population to defend ther country and fight back. That, any way you look at it, is the highest sacrifice. It's a pity that for the next 50 years they were demonized and their efforts minimised and buried under America's anti-commie propaganda.

About the world war two things, as British Citizen of England I can appreciate that we may have been fucked without american help when it came, but we fought for two years alone agains tthe massive europe - spanning reich, so if it wasnt for BRITAIN fighting, all of europe would have been taken and the nazis would haev ammassed enough power to take on america, which means YOU guys would have been german, so really we should all just blame the french and be done with it.
