Savvy???!?!?
Ok, i was at a hotel this weekend and and every day when the room service lady came all she said was "Savvy? "...... now i recently discovered that i am a dumb shit and don't know what the fuck savvy means.... so i stand there making her repeat the same word twenty times just so i can think of some kind of answer that makes sense but nothing comes to mind so i end up just saying no and closing the door on her and she is looking at me like im speaking a different language so obviously that answer didn't make sense...... yeah so i would really appreciate it if some one told me what savvy means and why the fuck she wouldn''t just use another word instead of making that moment so awkwardRating:3.00

2Savvy means to understand something well. Like I'm sailing savvy. Or I'm computer savvy. It's a naval term..

3How can you not think of looking that up in a dictionary?

4Obviously you aren't savvy on anything

5She was asking you if you understood and all you had to do was say no.

6Yes but this is 2008. Americans are not capable of anything... Thanks for proving that point, OP.

7Who cares what it means in the dictionary? Normal people don't say that word and nothing else. Just don't bother with abnormal people.

8I just wish more people were able to "think" more. Seems like no one wants to think .

9The only reason "savvy" is in the popular lexicon is because of Pirates of the Caribbean. So, unless you are either
A: British or
B: Under twenty
it makes no sense whatsoever.

15I believe that this person does not speak English well; and was attempting an English word, with a thick accent. My best guess would be "service? ". Considering the woman's job, and the meaning of "savvy"...... Savvy seems a non sequitur in this instance.
