Wal-Mart Tire and Lube Express
This past spring I bought tires at Wal-Mart. I should've known better but they were cheap. So while I'm there I realize I'm almost due for an oil change and I tell the guy to go ahead and do that while he's at it. They can't just change the oil, you have to pick an oil change package. So I got the one where they grease everything, new air filter, fluid check, etc etc.First it took them 5 hours to do my tires and oil change. After 5 hours at Wal-Mart Tire and Lube I was ready to kill myself or the next 400 pound female hillbilly that rammed her shopping cart into my ankles.
They finally finish and tell me the reason it took so long is because I have a bent rim and they had a terrible time getting the tire on it. So now I've got a fucking bent rim? How the hell did that happen? Whatever, at least I get to leave Wal-Mart now so I don't care.
Fast forward to now and my car needs tires and all that other shit again. I've learned my lesson and I'm certainly not letting Wal-Mart Tire and Lube Express do it. Luckily a mechanic I know is having a slow week so I make an appointment with him. I ask him how bad the bent rim is and he tells me there is no bent rim. They're perfectly damn fine. Then he asks who changed my air filter last, I say Wal-Mart. Apparently they took a part of my air intake system off and never re-attached it. They just left it sitting there not hooked up to anything. Here I thought my car was sluggish because I've had it for 3 years, I thought it was just getting old. And the reason I needed tires after just a few months is because they aligned everything wrong.
I would so sue them if I could. But at least I learned a lesson.

Going to Walmart for car repairs is like going to Best Buy for computer stuff. Sad thing is, Best Buy "specializes" in that stuff.

You've learned a hard lesson, Wal Mart TLE people are usually ones who have been fired from Goodyear, Firestone, etc. Also don't go to Jiffy Lube, they are just as bad. I work at a dealership and we see cars come in with oil in the radiator, water in the tranny fill, etc. Don't risk a $3000 engine to save $10.

First off where are you getting an engine for $3000? I cant find a new 5.7 for under $6000. No not a hemi fuck dodge.
Also the company I work for takes thier trucks to Jiffy Lube which charges a minimum of $50. I take my truck to the dealer and its $24.99. Yeah fuck jiffy lube and thier mcdonalds reject employees.

^ Maybe he found a motor for three grand because most vehicles don't need a freaking 5.7 liter motor in them. Ever heard of a 4 cylinder?

Fuck Wal-Mart. I went there for an oil change once. Not my first choice but we were in BFE and had no idea where an actual sevice station was. Long story short, they couldn't figure out how to get the cap off to change the oil, and sent me on my merry little way...10 minutes later, the hood flys up while i'm going 55 mph. Apparently high school drop outs don't know how to drop a hood. My windshield was cracked all to hell. We went back and the guy admitted it was his fault. Called the Customer service number and they said it was our fault for not double checking that the hood was actually shut! So we bought our own damn windshield (which was all we wanted replaced, we were able to unbang the hood to the point where it was shut) and decided to never shop at wal-mart again. they couldn't pay $300 bucks for their fuck up, so they will never get our money again. That place makes me feel physically ill anyways...

Excellent vent. I guess it's because I hardly ever shop at Wal-Mart but I didn't even know they had anything like this.

Whoever wrote this comment needs to at least know a little bit about automotive work. Yes i agree a lot of Wal-Marts do have unskilled technicians working in the TLE. But you did not need new tires because they "aligned everything wrong". You do not align anything when you put on new tires you balance them. Sounds like you had a pre-excisting suspension and alignment problem, which Wal-Mart does not mess with. They use to do alignments, but back in mid 90's. Sounds like you are just upset because you have no clue what PREVENTATIVE MAINTNANCE is. Yes I am a certified mechanic and love when people come back and tell me i made there back tire go low when i filled the washer fluid. Seriously guys, get your facts straight! It will save you some public embarresment.

Did you go back for the recommended rotation and rebalance?
Prolly not.
Go to Costco for tires. They pay better so the tire monkeys are better behaved.
