Not what evryone fucking thinks it is. It isn't halloween evryday, it's not freaking out your parents, and it sure as fucking hell is not a phase. As a college Goth, I can say that all of these kids and "internet Goths" are nothing but a bunch of fucking posers and douche bags and 40 year old virgins living in their mother's basement! It's so FUCKING ANNOYING! They all give REAL gothic a horrible fucking name! I can't stand a fucking poser! Goth is all about personal preference and image, NOT fucking scare factor! Just stop with the fakes and caddy shams! If you want to freak your parents out, just say that you're gay! Don't flaunt your plasticity and kill OUR way of motherfucking life!

I agree with #4. Goth guys all look like fags. Normal guys don't want to where makeup even if they want to be different. It's the same though with all the Puerto Rican wearing hairbands and plucking their eyebrows. Didn't Hispanics used to want to look macho?

Ther is a differintiation in each goth. Some are all leather, some chains, and not all goths are gay. Granted, some ar, but that's the way it is in almost every life-style

In short, as soon as you identify yourself as one of the common groups (goth, emo, nerd, jock, stoner, geek, dork, etc...), you pretty much sign up admission - "Yes, I`m loser, and those losers I like hang out with most."
Frankly, people without mental issues have no need to define themselves as "goth" or any other group moniker - they are entirely content and secure to define themselves as "me", without alleging to any peer group for support.
